I was actually looking for "Chris Ryan's Strike Back" on Netflixs when "Ultimate Force" popped up. Having seen bits of it on U-Tube, and knowing it was a Chris Ryan project, I watched it. Wow. As a fan of Andy McNab and other former SAS writers, I have a great admiration for their work and dedication to country."Ultimate Force" from the beginning seemed very cheesy poorly made for the money. Writing was incredibly bad.The second series ended very disturbingly, and so unrealistically, that I just gave up. While we know dangerous and incompetent officers have been fragged by their own troops, Hanno's murder of his superior officer (played by Richard Armitage in a pre-"MI-5", and "Chris Ryan's Strike Back" role) was a totally shocking mess. Yes, the man had been carrying own with a subordinate's wife, but killing him was both stupid and ridiculous. The jovial way they handled the officer's death and body was unbelievable. No one reacted to Hanno's "Man down" call, which should have triggered a huge reaction from his men. I assume Hanno had some help stuffing the officer's body into a refrigerator cooler, topping it off with soft drinks, then sending unsuspecting people to help themselves with to a drink. No one, including the dead officer's commanding officer, was respectful. Laughing over a dead SAS officer, who'd served his country, been the beneficiary of millions of dollars of training, is sickening. Then his subordinates had to be ordered to bag and tag his body. Really? They'd leave a fellow SAS member's body in a cooler in a foreign country? We never find out if the cuckolded SAS member ever mended his relationship with his wife, since he was written out of the show in the next season. A guy who meant so much to Hanno that the later killed someone who was having an affair with his wife? Oh well.

Watching it is a little bit like eating a half cooked chicken, the cooked parts are succulent, full of flavour and originality and just as you are savouring it you take a mouthful of raw chicken and run to the bathroom ready to throw up. The best parts are for sure the lack of morality and ethics to the show, you get the feeling anything could happen. No A- team fire a million bullets and no one hurt here. Instead the violence is really well.. violent! The Good guys are just as ruthless if not more so than the bad guys and this gives a unique twist. It also has a healthy hint of the professionals, but Ross Kemp doesn't have a perm and this is where we hit the raw chicken. It's very hard to swallow a middle aged man who looks like he has a pillow stuff in his behind and a giant turtle in his front, as a ultra fit super solider. Some of the later series are almost laughable where they made a quarry in Chester look like the Tora Bora mountains just by making all the characters wear Arab head dresses. The one when they are in Africa is even more laughable where they use School Paint 5 to turn every scene into a flickering heat mirage. But if you miss the professional and like the SAS there is enough here to keep you entertained, but the shows quality has more ups and downs than a seesaw in kids park.

This is surely the greatest show that i have ever seen, and most likely; the greatest you will ever see too! WOW.. Ross Kemp should win like a Nobel prize for this one! Or like a Grammy or something... Hammer fist! In the episode i was lucky enough to see of this grade A show, Ross went into Columbia (which was clearly filmed in england) with his superbly macho buddies (even the girl) and shot loads of people for seemingly no reason, Great! Then he hit some guy in the face and shouted Hammer fist! Fantastic... I don't understand this show fully, i believe the plot is just too deep for my comprehension, but the action makes up for the lack of understanding.

It seems that the one Jamie that everyone seems to talk about is Jamie Draven.. well there was also another Jamie on the show.. Jamie Bamber.Playing the 'Rupert' Dotsy he was superb. He's only been in the biz a short while but already he's clocked up an impressive resume.. from Hornblower as Archie Kennedy through to such plays as the Scarlet Pimpernel and in Poirot. He's not only a talented actor but also very intelligent (and cute of course). (He went to Cambridge and has a 1st Class MA Honors in Modern Languages.. well he can speak three of them). If you ever have chance to see him in a stage production then go.. You'll not regret it. I've just seen Dr Faustus and believe me it was amazing, so much so I had to see it twice.Jamie's stage presence and acting ability is overwhelming. Not only that.. he's a nice guy to. It's hard to think that the two can go hand in hand nowadays. Or maybe I'm just a cynic. At the moment you can catch him in Battlestar Galactica (the new one) as Apollo. He is at ease with characters from sci-fi to drama productions.Just one last thing, if you ever get the chance to see him or meet him, don't pass up the chance. You won't be disappointed.
