I was seduced by season 1, mainly by the generic that I found a bit dark, reflecting perfectly the ambiance of this series set in the remote Louisiana.
As a former fan of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Six Feet Under, I was delighted to find a show that was mixing sci-fi and dark humor. However, I found many scenes a bit provocative and not bringing much to the scenario. No show being perfect, I tried to watch season 2 but I only found scenes trying to be provocative and not particularly imaginative. I must say this has been a great disappointment as I did enjoy the previoius works of Alan Ball that were spotting the dark side of humanity but in a sensitive and beautiful way that I didn´t find here. Suffice to say that I did not watch beyond season 2.

let me say that i read two maybe three of the books and found them real stupid , but then someone told me the series were better so i decided to give it a shot and boy do i regret it . so , in order to give fair view to other people i have categorized it in to some main parts and review them separate : Actors : apart from miss paquinn they all looked either bored or just simply not talented . the two vampire ( Eric and bill) had people are dumb and we are making money from their stupidity written on their foreheads and it felt that there are times that these two are just simply suppressing giggles . others as i have mentioned above are simply not talented they there because i guess no one else wanted this roles ? Plot : what plot ? there is no plot . its the same thing happening over and over and over again , some villain( a cartoonish one) wants to use sookie for her blood .Hidden agenda : i understand the producer/director guy is gay , but did he have shove his own view of the world down our throats ? and whats with the hate towards Christianity ? this is offensive , i am a Muslim and as a Muslim i have nothing but respect for other religions and i find it hard to believe that by being blatantly rude towards religious people ,you become some open minded person.final advice : stay clear this is boring and offensive. people grow up watch something about reality of life and its purpose . Not some bul..... about fairies , vamps and werewolves.

I've been a fan since the second I watched this show. It's an outstanding series full of dry humour, unique yet traditional drama and a whole bunch of certainly not twilight theme. I love the story. Not a huge fan of the protagonist but hey, every other character makes up for it. Here you have a show that exceeds every aspect of a life with vampires. The lead idea of the show is vampire but they bring in werewolves, shape shifters and many others including fairies which no other show I have seen has brought to television . I've seen fans say it has fallen through but I don't believe it has . It's gotten more unique. I love that vampires are known, the synthetic blood, the tainted vamps, the religious red neck town, and Fangtasia . Beautiful . Every time I finish an episode I'm so excited I have to watch the rest. This show is pure genius thrown in with the occasional bad acting but once again, so many things make up for it. You got the blonde bombshell protagonist with multiple love problems, the hot womanizer who's an idiot, the gay black guy, the emotional vampire, the mysterious vampire, the sweet puppy eyed boy (literally), the dumb founded sheriffs, the damaged girl with major family problems, the sarcastic mono tone vampire and so much more! I'm so upset it's over but I'm happy they still did it and kept it going . This show has never failed to please me and it never will as I rematch it in the future !

This is the most racist modern movie made- it shows that America is still as trashy as it was 100 years ago. This show characterizes the whole town in-love with the Lilly white blond blue eyed girl, who is a virgin and is perfect- comes from the perfect white Christian family. The African Americans are no doubt playing the stereo typical roles of a drunk single mother who was left by a abusive husband to raise her daughter. Tara is the emotionally broken angry black girl who is in-love with the perfect white boy and gets used like a slot machine by the trashy white bar owner (sam). then there is The African American male who is played as a homosexual, cook. Truly the writers and producers of this series are racist and are not trying to hide it- but so is America. I find this series insulting and the African American Actors should be ashamed for taking part in it. Once again these actors fed the stereo type that niggaz do anything for money.
