Reviews

Tweekums If somebody had told me that a programme featuring Andrew Neil, Michael Portillo and Diane Abbott would be so entertaining I'd have thought they were mad. The biggest surprise is the chemistry between left-winger Abbott and former darling of the Tory right Portillo. Each week they discuss the week's political news and give their views on what the parties will do and what they think they should do, frequently in a way that suggests they don't have a high opinion of the government, Andrew Neil invariably refers to Gordon Brown as "Our Great Leader" as though he were a North Korean dictator. The regulars are joined by other commentators who may be politicians, political journalists or celebrities who present an amusing report on one of the week's news items before joining the regulars in the studio. It is just a shame that this excellent programme is broadcast so late, starting, because of this I only manage to watch it occasionally. If you are interesting in politics but don't take it too seriously this programme will be for you.
