funderbunder This show was a total waste of time. Both my girlfriend and I were so irritated with the hosts' incessant gushing and giggling about the most mundane features of these supposedly extraordinary homes along with the never-ending laughing at every un-funny thing that came out of their mouths, that we barely made it through the first episode. They said the most ridiculous things. How does a concrete block house blend in with nature? The concrete walls were reminiscent of a prison. And how do you have a "once in a lifetime view," repeatedly? How does the wing of a 747 make a home "feminine?" How, by any stretch of the imagination, can a house with an interior made primarily of plywood be considered "extraordinary?" How can Piers say that if you get "dealing with the weather" right everything else is secondary, yet in the very next scene claim that everything is secondary to the feel (atmosphere) of the place? Ugh. These two were clearly so giddy about having their very own show where they could be the spotlight in every scene that they forgot the premise of the show was about the HOMES, not them. An hour of life wasted.
cmb-54959 The homes really are the stars of this show and by inference, the architects. However, the presenters offer nothing of any insight and their twee glib comments start to grate. Why Piers Taylor feels the need to break out his sharpies and charcoals every time is beyond me. His simplistic drawings tell us nothing we couldn't see with our own eyes. So enjoy the architecture and the views and try to block out the presenters
gatteschi I just finished the first season and I'm AMAZED about how good was the show. All the houses and how they did explained it! The host were the best for it. The architect was so calm and let you know every single detail of the houses in ways the normal people like me couldn't even think about it, and that's perfect because it helps you to see the building in a completely different way, and it's wonderful. The actress, otherwise, was perfect because she was the one who was showing more how those houses where really good to be used and she was working a lot on the sentimental part from the owners. She was also bringing a lot of joy in the show.
self00101 Screech, screech, Ms. Caroline!! Why her, she adds nothing and disturbs the tranquility of some of the breathtaking views! Why, why?
