At some betting shop, while Sergeant Ko Lik-kei is agonizing over raising money for settling his girlfriend Tai Pik-kei’s debt, pickpocket Yuen Chun-tung snatches his wallet. Lik-kei and his subordinate go after Chun-tung. But Inspector Chung Ching-ying jeers at them as he is one step ahead. A witness called Lee Ho-fan goes to the police station to make statements. His legal counsel Lee Chung-ying insists that Ho-fan is not going to be a witness. She and Lik-kei keep arguing. Ho-fan picks up Lik-kei’s wallet in which he finds Lik-kei’s card. Ho-fan then calls Lik-kei. But because of Ho-fan’s stubborn character, Ho-fan and Lik-kei misunderstand each other. Ho-fan is the chairman of Rising Apparel Limited. He and his younger sister Chung-ying, who is a barrister by profession, are going to a product launch event hosted by senior staff member Yip Ming-kwan. Ho-fan accidentally causes Ming-kwan to embarrass himself at the event.

Lik-kei catches sight of Chun-tung while he and his subordinates are raiding some brothel. Lik-kei pursues him and reaches some unit. Ho-fan follows from behind and notices Chun-tung’s female accomplice. Chun-tung is restrained by Lik-kei in a back alley. Some assassin fatally shoots Chun-tung and even points a gun at Ho-fan. Lik-kei instinctively pulls Ho-fan away. But Ho-fan accidentally bruises his head and passes out. Ho-fan comes round and then cannot recall the course of events in the shooting incident. But he remembers he had seen Chun-tung’s female accomplice in the office. Lik-kei tells Ho-fan how to ask the company secretary to let him see CCTV footage, alerting Ming-kwan, Chung-ying and their chums. Lik-kei is then suspended from duty as Ching-ying zeros in on him. Lik-kei goes to see Ho-fan. He suspects someone is going to harm him. Suddenly, a gun-wielding mysterious person snipes at Ho-fan.

Lik-kei, Ho-fan and Chung-ying are evading the baddies. In an elevator, Lik-kei abruptly has breathing difficulties and collapses. After being pursued by assassin, Ho-fan keeps hiding in his room all day long. He is only willing to contact Lik-kei. Crime Unit tells Lik-kei to resume duty and protect Ho-fan. The duo are polar opposites and often get into hilarious situations. Ming-kwan is really scared as tough guy W wants him to settle his debt. To raise money, Ming-kwan uses some excuse for buying new machinery to embezzle company funds. But some document requires Ho-fan’s signature. Ho-fan refuses to sign as he notices some error on the document. Ming-kwan is frustrated. Lik-kei wants to track down the female accomplice mentioned by Ho-fan. He finds out Rising Apparel Limited has exactly lost the key date’s CCTV footage.

Lik-kei tries to help Ho-fan retrieve lost memories by forcing him to drink. Chung-ying is furious after finding out Lik-kei’s antics. Pik-kei is requested to repay her debt. Wing-yum’s home is doused with kerosene. Pik-kei gets nervous and calls Lik-kei and asks for help. Lik-kei tells his subordinate to stand in for him and protect Ho-fan. He then wants to rush home, resulting in some baddie seizing this chance to enter the place and shoot Ho-fan, who is on the brink of death. Chung-ying gets furious as Lik-kei has done a bad job. Ho-fan then unexpectedly wants to move into Lik-kei’s home. Wing-yum is annoyed as electrical appliances and furniture are repositioned. On Lik-kei’s advice, Chung-ying investigates the incident involving some snitch in the company. She also uses the CCTV hard disk to lure the snitch into showing up. Lik-kei takes Ho-fan to the police station. Ho-fan suddenly claims he is smelling the assassin’s odor.

At the police station, Lik-kei directs Ho-fan to look for the baddies. A certain target turns out to be Ching-ying’s subordinate. The case is concluded. Ho-fan and Chung-ying want to express their gratitude to the chums by inviting Lik-kei and his relatives and also his subordinates to dinner. During the proceedings, Chung-ying catches sight of Lik-kei and Pik-kei constantly clinging to each other. Ho-fan is bothered by regularly seeing images of Lik-kei in his head. He then makes an appointment with some psychotherapist. He also asks Lik-kei to help resolve issues of seeing him in his dreams. Wing-yum accidentally finds out Ho-fan is a committee member of the school where she works. She then uses him to save face in front of the principal. W asks Ming-kwan to settle his debt. However, Ming-kwan fails to convince Cheung-lok to sign the document for machinery purchase. Ming-kwan wants to kidnap Ho-fan and force Cheung-lok to sign the document on behalf of his boss.

Lik-kei and his subordinates manage to get CCTV footage of the incident on that particular date from Chung-ying’s team. They then go to the incident location to gather evidence. They find some dash cam that could have recorded the course of events. Lik-kei tracks down car owner Kam Chi-shing. He also notices the dash cam footage has captured some woman’s voice. Meanwhile at the detention center, Ho-fan tearfully asks to be allowed to leave. Chung-ying asks Ching-ying’s boss about bailing Ho-fan. The victim in the case dies. Ho-fan is charged with murder and taken to the Correctional Services Department. The chums are very worried. Wing-yum blames herself for getting Ho-fan involved. Ming-kwan tells Cheung-lok to sign the machinery purchase contract. But Wing-yum abruptly shows up with Ho-fan’s authorization letter, which designates her as his representative in handling company matters.

Chung-ying is suspicious of Pik-kei’s behavior. She and Ho-fan then go to Fei Ngo Shan and notice Pik-kei and Chi-shing are having some hanky-panky in a car. Lik-kei and his chums catch sight of Chun-tung’s female accomplice Lai-yiu outside the police station. Lai-yiu reveals certain details in Chun-tung’s homicide case. Cheung-lok begs Chung-ying to let Lai-yiu become deputy general manager of the company. Although Chung-ying does not think Lai-yiu is up to the job, she still agrees as she is empathetic. But Lai-yiu actually has some ulterior motive. Lik-kei has a date with Chung-ying, who undergoes a makeover and goes out with him. But Lik-kei has also asked his subordinates and Ho-fan to come along. Chung-ying is somewhat disappointed as their rendezvous has some other meaning. Ho-fan shows up to ask to see Lik-kei. He wants to tell him Pik-kei is having an affair.

Crime Unit launches an investigation as Likkei’s subordinate Chu Hokyan has inexplicably gone missing after leaving behind a set of numbers.Based on certain clues,Likkei tracks Hokyan and guesses he could be at some pier.He reaches the location and finds some suspicious blood stains and bullet.Hofan thinks he knows the key to deciphering the numbers as he is inspired by some parcel.Hokyan is eventually found.The incident is also associated with some narcotics case. Ming-kwan sets up a scheme and manages to win Chung-ying’s trust and make Chung-ying investigate Lai-yiu. Hok-yan recalls seeing some tattooed woman that day when he was shot. He also sketches the tattoo pattern. While Lik-kei is looking for the tattooed woman in some street, he runs into Chi-shing. A fracas ensues and Chi-shing gets hurt. But Chi-shing falsely accuses Lik-kei of causing bodily harm. Pik-kei scolds Lik-kei for taking revenge on Chi-shing by abusing his authority. She even angrily slaps him. Lik-kei locks himself in a room as he is suffering emotional trauma. Meanwhile, Cheung-lok catches sight of Chung-ying peeking at Lai-yiu’s computer. Ho-fan pays Lik-kei a visit. But he realizes Lik-kei is not home. The chums search high and low for Lik-kei. Chung-ying finds Lik-kei downstairs in his home. She accidentally pushes him into an elevator. Chung-ying is shocked as Lik-kei again passes out in an elevator.

Lik-kei tenders his resignation. Sun-wai asks him to stay. Wing-yum asks to see Sun-wai. She questions him if he has been doing his daughter’s homework. Sun-wai changes the topic by mentioning Lik-kei’s resignation. He also seizes a chance to leave. Wing-yum anxiously tells Lik-kei’s subordinates about Lik-kei’s intention to resign. Hok-yan and Lik-kei even turn against each other. Chung-ying is tracking Lai-yiu. A bunch of thugs abruptly goes after Chung-ying, who calls Lik-kei and asks for help as the situation gets dangerous. Lik-kei promptly comes to Chung-ying’s rescue. Chung-ying has taken photos of some suspicious woman. Ho-fan notices some tattoo on the back of the woman’s neck. He then asks Hok-yan about what he has noticed. Lik-kei and his subordinates tail the woman. With Wing-yum and Chung-ying’s help, he eventually manages to take clear pictures of the woman’s tattoo pattern. Lik-kei suspects Lai-yiu has something to do with the narcotics case.

Lik-kei and Chung-ying inspect some suspicious batch of apparel. But they have not found anything. Ho-fan then wants to sort out the apparel. While he is ironing some garment, each of the trio becomes disoriented one after another. The next day, Chung-ying surprisingly sees Li-kei sleeping in the same bed as her. They have even mutually switched clothes between them. The same things have also happened to Ho-fan and Wing-yum. But the quartet cannot remember anything about last night. Chung-ying goes along with Ho-fan to undergo hypnosis in an attempt to retrieve lost memories. But Ho-fan cannot be hypnotized. Instead, Chung-ying recalls she and Lik-kei taking footage of themselves the other night. But that clip is not on her phone. W reminds Lai-yiu not to let anyone know her whereabouts. Lai-yiu then moves into the Yip household. Ming-kwan helplessly agrees. Lik-kei tells Ming-kwan to get closer to Lai-yiu to gather intelligence.

Lai-yiu becomes suspicious when Ming-kwan coaxes her into telling him what she knows. Wing-yum goes to the apparel company to proofread some document for Ho-fan. In the process, Ho-fan notices some discrepancy on a delivery note signed by Lai-yiu. He and Wing-yum then go the warehouse to check further. They accidentally discover some drug-tainted apparel. Meanwhile, Lai-yiu puts Ming-kwan into some vehicle that is going to deliver him and the drug-tainted apparel to some industrial building. Ming-kwan is taken to W’s place and also accused of being a snitch. Wing-yum and Ho-fan are caught as Sister Daring recognizes them. Lik-kei deals with Sister Daring by himself. Ho-fan and his chums want to flee. But Lai-yiu is watching them. Lai-yiu takes Ho-fan hostage and brings him to the roof, causing Ho-fan to retrieve certain lost memories. While Lik-kei is confronting Lai-yiu, he realizes she has something to do with his father’s death.

Cheung-lok blames himself for the Lai-yiu incident. He announces he is going to retire after six months and Ming-kwan shall become the new general manager. Ming-kwan takes up the position of deputy general manager for the time being. Chung-ying is somewhat disappointed, but Ho-fan agrees to this arrangement. Wing-yum seizes a chance to peep at Lik-kei’s phone. She notices some clip showing her ugly and messy self. Wing-yum and Chung-ying are agonizing over this. Lik-kei’s subordinate seizes a chance to ask Ho-fan to help investigate some case. Ho-fan hurriedly leaves as he abruptly recalls something about Lai-yiu. Ming-kwan is formulating some company policy. Chung-ying questions its effectiveness. The duo reach a deadlock. Chung-ying tells Cheung-lok he could hire some outsider to manage the company. Lik-kei and his chums go with Ho-fan to some store, where they run into store owner Cheung Sau-chun, who is also a dementia patient.

Ho-fan again goes to the store to look for Sau-chun. Lik-kei and his chums follow him. They realize Sau-chun is Lai-yiu’s mother. Sau-chun hooks up with Cheung-lok and Ming-kwan. She wrongly thinks Ming-kwan is Chun-tung. She also scolds him for taking Lai-yiu away. Lik-kei begs Chung-ying to pretend to be Lai-yiu and ask Sau-chun about Lai-yiu’s background. Chung-ying claims she knows Sau-chun and his daughter probably have something to do with Lik-kei’s father’s death. Ho-fan has another headache and also flashbacks of being together with Sau-chun and Lai-yiu in his childhood. Sau-chun moves into Cheung-lok and Ming-kwan’s place. After Lik-kei getting his phone repaired, the chaotic evening’s clip is restored. Lik-kei accidentally embarrasses Chung-ying as he wants to use the clip to express his affectionate feelings for her. Ming-kwan settles the matter for Chung-ying. He also wants to make advances to her to benefit himself.

Sau-chun tells Chung-ying there is another mysterious guy who knows Chun-tung very well. Sun-wai’s daughter is unhappy and runs up to the school’s roof. Lik-kei and Chung-ying go to the scene to offer comforting words. But the duo get entangled in their mutual emotional issues. Chung-ying is moved after watching a clip showing Lik-kei’s display of affection. Lik-kei even tells Chung-ying he loves her. Pik-kei abruptly shows up as the couple become amorous. Pik-kei claims Chi-shing has bruised her. She asks Lik-kei to let her take shelter in his place because she is homeless. Lik-kei helplessly agrees as he realizes she is desperate. Wing-yum is furious when she returns home and sees Pik-kei. Lik-kei and Ho-fan go to see Sau-chun. Ming-kwan finds out what is happening and urges Cheung-lok to take her away. Lik-kei undergoes a makeover and goes to see Chung-ying. But he has to return home early as Pik-kei calls him.

Cheung-lok wants to lie low by going on some trip with Sau-chun. But Sau-chun abruptly disappears. Pik-kei just has to ruin Lik-kei and Chung-ying’s date. She also deliberately approaches Lik-kei. Chung-ying does not like what she sees. She imitates Pik-kei’s way of seducing Lik-kei. Ho-fan notices something strange when he is having a text conversation with Sau-chun. While Ho-fan is tidying up Sau-chun’s clothes, he discovers some photo. He then promptly has a migraine as he recalls certain moments during that day when his mother died. Chung-ying catches sight of Pik-kei and Lik-kei’s affectionate gestures. She gets angry and tells Lik-kei she wants to end their relationship. At some cemetery, Ho-fan sees Lik-kei’s late father’s picture. He then recognizes that cop he saw in his dream. Afterward, Ho-fan recalls the circumstances on the day of his mother’s death.

Cheung-lok and Chung-ying collect Sau-chun’s old stuff. Cheung-lok simply sighs when he hears Chung-ying mentioning her mother’s death. He is then astonished when he finds out Ho-fan has managed to recall past events. Ching-ying becomes Lik-kei’s boss. He also orders investigation of the Sau-chun case to be suspended. Lik-kei arbitrarily approaches Ho-fan as he is investigating some case. Chungying installs an additional fingerprint lock at the apparel company’s office. She wants to track down the suspect who has taken Sauchun away. Meanwhile, Pikkei goes to the apparel company to look for Chungying. She admits she wants to rekindle her relationship with Likkei. The suspect is tracked down. Likkei has come to investigate. The suspect suddenly points a gun at Likkei. Chingying and his subordinates also promptly reach the scene. The suspect has taken Mingkwan and some women hostage. The gun goes off accidentally and Chingying is hit. Likkei manages to save Chung-ying in the nick of time.

Ho-fan has lost his memory. He only remembers Ming-kwan. Lik-kei interrogates Lui Dong-lo as he just has to find the truth. Ho-fan commits the chums’ relationships to memory. He surprisingly listens to Wing-yum’s advice and regards her as his fiancée. Lik-kei and Chung-ying look up Dong-lo’s papers. They have doubts as they also find out Ming-kwan has met up with a lawyer called Shum Ching-wai. Chung-ying hooks up with Ming-kwan and asks him to tell her what he knows. Lik-kei gets worried and peeps at the duo. The next day, Lik-kei nervously asks Chung-ying about her relationship with Ming-kwan. But Chung-ying confirms she and Lik-kei have gone their separate ways. Ming-kwan lies to Ho-fan about offering help in handling company matters in an attempt to win over Ho-fan’s trust. Meanwhile, Wing-yum and Ho-fan are strolling at some beach. She points out Ho-fan once proposed to her at the beach. She wants him to again tell her he loves her.

Lik-kei and Chung-ying are having a date at a restaurant. Ming-kwan unexpectedly shows up. He even makes advances to Chung-ying. Pik-kei then suddenly appears and also reveals Li-kei is going out with Chung-ying. Ho-fan turns against Lik-kei, Chung-ying and Wing-yum as he reckons the trio are deceiving him. Lik-kei and Wing-yum return home and shockingly see Pik-kei lying on the floor. Meanwhile, Chung-ying realizes Ho-fan is moving into the Yip household. She fails to dissuade him. Based on some mini storage’s notice of arrears, Cheung-lok finds something in some mini storage space that is registered under Lai-yiu’s name. Lik-kei and Chung-ying go to see a very poorly Cheung-lok. They then become suspicious. They discover some clues after questioning the Yip household’s servant. Ho-fan announces Ming-kwan is to be appointed as company chairman. Chung-ying and Wing-yum try their best to intervene.

Cheung-lok shockingly finds out Lik-kei’s identity. Ming-kwan returns home and sees what is happening. He prevents Lik-kei from asking questions and expels him. Ming-kwan and Cheung-lok start an argument. Ming-kwan angrily pushes Cheung-lok against a wall. Ming-kwan blames Lik-kei for the Cheung-lok incident. Lik-kei is wanted as he resists arrest. Lik-kei and Chung-ying covertly hook up. They then coax Ho-fan into going to the cemetery to see them. They persuade him to lend a helping hand. But he declines. Wing-yum finds Ho-fan and wants to make up with him. In the process, Ming-kwan appears and takes Ho-fan away. Meanwhile, Ho-fan again recalls certain memories. Ming-kwan is plotting to make Ho-fan disappear. Fortunately, Lik-kei shows up to intervene at the critical moment. Ming-kwan confronts Lik-kei. He even opens fire on Lik-kei. Ho-fan finally recalls the sequence of events in a homicide case from yesteryear.
