I do not mind the episodes that I have watched so far. I also like Michelle Fairley as Catelyn Stark in Game of Thrones. I found that her turn as Margaret Beaufort was not as convincing as the previous actress. Margaret Beaufort was supposed to be a devout god-fearing woman. I did not find Fairley's turn as this compared to the other actress.

I was so disappointed in this series. I'm a huge fan of Ms Philippa Gregory's novels, and of the Plantagenet/Tudor era. The White Queen, series and novel, I absolutely loved. Historically inaccurate, as being historical fiction, but a very entertaining read and viewing. I just finished watching the Tudors when I stumbled across the White Queen and I was excited to watch the era before the Tudor period. I finished the White Queen and was hanging out desperately for the White Princess. When I finally watched it I was so disappointed. Maybe it's because I have an extensive historical knowledge of the era and it was so historically inaccurate? Or because I had grown accustomed to the White Queen and was disappointed that none of the original cast had returned? My favourite character in the White Queen was Jacquetta Woodville, of course she wouldn't appear in the White Princess, but I missed her all the same. Biggest disappointment in the White Princess was Lady Margaret Beaufort. Firstly, because I will always see Michelle Fairley as Lady Catelyn Stark, and secondly, the character wasn't portrayed remotely similar to Margaret in the White Queen. White Queen Margaret was hilarious to watch, being almost on the crazy side with her infamous piety and ambitious nature. Michelle Fairley didn't embody that at all. If I want a White Queen/Princess binge, I watch the Queen series and read the Princess novel

After watching The White Queen this year, I really wanted to see The White Princess... But what a struggle to get trough the 8 episodes. A real shame, because it is a follow up and it could have been really good as well. In my opinion there are multiple reasons that the show doesn't flow like The White Queen did. 1. Starting the show, it felt weird that the cast was different. 2. At least 5 from the 8 episodes are full of the to standard Hollywood "will they, wont they" stuff. 3. Overall the whole series feels cheaply and like it was made in a rush. 4. Some performances are just straight up bad and there is a lack of the connected feel between some characters. Overall it felt more like a bad soap then a good miniseries. That all being said, I still watched it all. But I won't be watching it again...

1. The cast was great (particularly Jodie Comer and Michelle Fairley);2. There are some clichés yes, but they are well presented and they warm your heart in a story which, in the absence of romance, would only be about plotting, war and politics. Besides, Elizabeth and Henry loved each other in real life as well, so I fail to see where the problems lies;3. The story is pretty good and the main story-line respects history...for the most part at least. There are, of course, inconsistencies, which is normall since this is not a documentary. So when it comes to little details (e.g. conversations, emotional reactions) don't expect 100% historical accuracy. No script can possibly be 100% historically accurate due to the lack of historical information. I thought I should mention this because some people complained about that aspect. Having such an expectation is completely unrealistic. And for the record, The Tudors weren't 100% historically accurate either. Neither was Rome, Kingdom of Heaven and not even Band of Brothers. The one thing that I did not particularly like is that the Elizabeth of York shown, differs in some ways from what is historically known. All-in-all, I recommend this show, especially as a follow-up to The White Queen. However, I for one liked The White Princess more due to the cast. And I'm sorry to see the show won't be renewed. Thank God we have like a zillion cop movies out there... :( (yes, it's an irony).
