pontram It began as the ultimate Zombie Apocalypse show. It was vibrant, adventurous, thrilling, a good place to feel disconnected from the world. One could have felt like being amidst the survivors and share their struggles. But when Alexandria came in, the show began to run in circles and to eat itself up. It began to stagnate. Sure, it had its moments, and Morgan was a very wise addition to the story and to the cast. But nevertheless, things began to fall apart, like the teams' brain power. They were not the brightest, but they were not dumb. Later, it seemed that they got depression with progressing idiotism. The writers forgot why humanity survived and prospered in the first place. Hint: It's not because we were the strongest in the world, at the time. However, it got ridiculous with the appearance of Negans' character, following the dumbest of all possible preludes - a mass murder, orchestrated and carefully executed by our heroes. Does anyone wants to identify with murderers, however deep and metaphorical that was meant ? - Even as a comic, that could not work. There, not only the writing got sloppy, but also direction and cut. Sometimes my forward button vibrated, and I realized that a 50-minutes-episode had only 10 minutes or so of relevant runtime. The rest was ordinary stalling, to fill the emptiness until the season finale. Now, after season 8, I am done with it, and I would recommend to the producers to end the show soon. There hasn't been anything new or important for about three or four seasons, except more violence and senseless killing, it's time to bury it properly.
alialhassn I really was in the first penalty and the second and third beautiful and then what I did not know in the old seasons will become a mere action not horror
reyhanehgolzari This is the series that I have been searching for long time and I'm sure it's the best series that I've ever seen
coex23 I'm now halfway through Season 8. Yes, I've stuck it out this long!! The past few seasons have really been trying, too! Way too many "battle episodes" with no plot or character growth; yet, I kept watching hoping something might develop. I was wrong. Now, halfway into 8, I'm stunned. I honestly didn't expect such a massive drop in quality after so many weak seasons! I thought that it might slowly drop in quality, while occasionally offering up some nuggets here and there. I have no problem being wrong about things, but jeez, this hurts.Did they switch writers? Did AMC cut the budget (some of those zombie masks were more than obvious!)? These episodes seemed to be written by someone reading comics written for kids in the 1970s: incredibly simplistic dialog and painfully weak "character development" (the confession of Negan was truly childish and cringeworthy!).Negan was absolutely great in his first episode, but since then he has spiralled rapidly into a simple one-dimensional villain laying on the goofy southern-fried jerk routine so thick that it hurts. It has to stop... he can't really be that lame, can he? (Actually, I just saw Jeffrey Morgan in Rampage, and apparently he is a one note actor. Too bad!)The rest of the crew get some of the worst lines ever, and are smothered in really stupid action (the childish behavior between Daryl and Rick, and that silly "fight" they had! the crappy stuff with Carol and that overly cartoonish King, etc). Plus, everyone's trying so obviously to get "meta" with their thinking about "keeping the workers happy" and the consequences of their actions. That alone isn't so bad, but it feels tacked on rather than a slow building discussion that should have happened. The main crew is now so splintered, divided and simply not together anymore, so the viewer gets whiplash with all the mini-stories flying around that never seem to connect. There is no unifying force or theme anymore; which is what they're aiming for, but it's handled so poorly that I'm flabbergasted that no one on staff was checking these scripts before production. Jeez!I've said it for the past 4 or 5 seasons: I don't think I can do this anymore. But, this is it: I'm not even going to finish season 8! Someone, please convince me otherwise!!
