Not bad acting good enough sets, Not suspenseful plots but enough to keep interest. The bad for this which I personally have trouble with is historical accuracy. Being from the area this takes place and very familiar with history in this time period. Just about every episode so far has flaws that make a minor contribution to the plot. Seems like they did some research as they name towns that nobody outside the Kansas city area would of heard about. But Sugar Creek having Gold claims! Using a Saloon as a court house in Kansas City, even much smaller towns of the period had dedicated traditional court houses back then. Indians, Bushwhackers and how they are portrayed. Only on episode 4 so probably gonna be a lot more.

I love period dramas and westerns. This one is more like a 70s TV series than a current offering. It's more Magnum PI than Deadwood. Nice scenery, and a decent cast, but i couldn't get past the campy edting. Maybe it got better after the first couple of episodes, but I won't bother finding out. This was a missfire.

Great show! Why just one season?? And worse of all they ended with a cliff hanger. I'n now addicted to a show that seems to no longer exist.. All the characters were well played. It was a who done it with a Western flair to it. It seemed to always be Winter there in Kansas City. And then the cliff hanger between Billy the kid and William. Please bring this show back!

The train was great and the initial setup looked impressively realistic but from then on it was all downhill. Pity there wasn't a real train crash rather than the metaphorical one we had to ultimately endure. This was like a poor remake of a mediocre 1950's western. The dialogue was stilted and dull, lacking any interest and completely failing to contribute to the development of the characters, such as they were, being one dimensional and very, very wooden. Little touches such as the attempts at humour in the boxing of the son's ears or giving him a female boss and just watching his pained expression were just out of touch with the demands of modern drama. It would have been better and more fun if the good guys wore white hats and the bad, black. As it was it was necessary to spend a few seconds reminding yourself that he was OK, he was naughty and he was very unpleasant but unlikely to hurt anyone. Awful.
