ninjarx In a nutshell, this is the story of how falling asleep at the wheel during the 1990's gave Islamic extremists the opportunity to pull off the attacks of 9/11.It's interesting how quickly we forget about the blunders which were made during the Clinton administration (Somalia, Kosovo, UN Scams, etc) But as long as your stocks were high, and you were gainfully employed...what did you care...right? You can bash President Bush all you want. But what you can't deny is that he was handed the worst situation/event in American history, mostly due to 8 prior years of policy which enabled our enemies pull off an event that most of us could never imagine.I'm sure all the Michael Moore types will post further venom of hate in regards to this post. But in reality...they are as blind as the administration which allowed terrorism to flourish!!
Rebelgadfly1968 Excellent docudrama. I suggest everyone see it when they have a chance and ponder the history of the 90's. That it bothers the left so much tells a lot about what they didn't do. They make excuses and this show while somewhat fictionalized in its actions shows that fact of history is true. We had opportunities to have bin Laden handed to us. The people who understood the threat were marginalized and ignored. We had a president who shamelessly led us into a two year forest of persona scandal when he could have been doing his job. His job was protecting the United States not hanging out with 21 year old interns. Instead of having stopped Bin Laden we are faced with if onlys and a former president who bullies news reporters when they ask him the questions he can barely ask himself. A must see for every American who wants to know why and wants the honest truth.
yonmei-1 Full of mockumentary camera wobble. The only thing worse than the camera wobble were the non-stop lies. Actually, the only thing worse than the non-stop lies was the film taking six hours for a plot that could have been summarised in two: President Clinton, according to this, was spectacularly indecisive, and President Bush extremely decisive. Although claiming to be "based on" the 9/11 Commission Report, it contradicts by the 9/11 Commission Report in several important places. And worse than that: it's dull. You wouldn't think that a film made about such a major disaster could be dull. But it was.
jtodd002 The acting, directing, camera work, and tension are incredible. I checked the vote breakdown as to why the overall rating could not be at least an 8.5 or 9. I have since found that the ultra partisan lefties en masse gave the show a 1. Check for yourself. This film was as good as it gets. The voters who cast a 1, are, of course, very liberal political types who wish to completely absolve the Clintonistas for any possible inaction regarding Al Queda/Bin Ladin during the first and second Clinton terms. You don't have to be a republican to admire this remarkably balanced presentation. The hero, in fact, is Richard Clarke, who has been no friend of the Bushies.
