The series remind me of Zoey Dean book series The A-List about the rich & Hollywood kids & Beverly Hills, 90210 (Which I Haven't Seen). A another show I regent, because I should've watched when it first air in Fox I was nearly 14 and I was not interest at the time same with Veronica Mars. I like the relationship with Ryan and Seth because they hit off when they first met. I like Seth, he's funny, innocent and cute and Seth's dad also made the series work too. I like Summer, I known she's shallow but she's fun and say something right. She and Seth are perfect together. They have beautiful scenes of California. The biggest of the series is they need to get rid of Marissa, she don't know what she wants she keep going back to cheater Luke or back to Ryan (make up your mind!) and she hurts everyone around her. The series is better than Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage other teen drama Gossip Girl. I had no plan to watch Season 2-4 I believe what readers said about the series went downhill I be wise enough to not watch it.

The O.C. is an American teen drama TV series which lasted for four seasons about the fictional lives of a group of teen-agers and their families that are living at the affluent seaside community of Newport Beach located at Orange County in California. The cast includes Peter Gallagher,Kelly Rowan,Benjamin McKenzie,Mischa Barton,Adam Brody,Chris Carmack,Tate Donovan,Melinda Clarke,Rachel Bilson,Alan Dale,Autumn Reeser and Willa Holland. The series centers on Ryan Atwood,a troubled and tough young man from a broken family and was adopted by a wealthy and philanthropic couple,Sandy and Kirsten Cohen. In addition to that is also tells the story of three families - Cohen, Cooper and Nichol families - and how Ryan will change them and the residents of The O.C. Also,we get to witness the time spent by Ryan and Seth and the time the spend with girl-next-door Marissa Cooper, Seth's childhood crush Summer Roberts, and the fast-talking loner Taylor Townsend. The stories deal with the culture clash between the idealistic Cohen family and its difference with the shallow, materialistic and narrow- minded community where it lives as well as elements of post- modernism, and functions as a mixture of melodrama and comedy. Other themes explored are inter-generational conflict, social class, social mobility, social alienation, sexual performance anxiety, hope, loneliness, virginity, emotional insecurity, environmentalism, alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling addiction, mental illness, homophobia, bisexuality, May–December romances, teen pregnancy, political activism, and eventually death and the acceptance of loss. No question about it that the series was able to feature many different themes in a light-hearted and comedic manner that the viewer will surely enjoy. Also,it became it became a forerunner of many popular shows later after it existed on the TV screen such as The Desperate Housewives and many others. It definitely has its place among the great TV series that was shown on TV.It will definitely be surely missed by many viewers for many years to come for it has its place among great TV series.

Ryan Atwood (Ben McKenzie) is a young man from the bad side of town who got arrested for his brother's mistake. Sandy Cohen (Peter Gallagher) is his lawyer and he decides to take him into his own home. His wife Kirsten (Kelly Rowan) isn't sure, but their kid Seth (Adam Brody) just love the fact that he has a friend. Ryan falls for the girl next door Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton). It's love at first sight. This is the biggest teen soap of its time. It's popularity is still shocking. I'm surprised that teen soaps aren't being churned out all the time by the networks other than CW. This show burn bright and burn fast. It lasted only 4 seasons, and was quickened by the death of Marissa Cooper at the end of season 3. I still don't know who's brilliant idea that was. Maybe Mischa Barton was tired of the show. Who knows? But it ended the show prematurely. Not to say that the show had long legs. Creator Josh Schwartz had design the show to burn through all the teen clichés real quick. By the 3rd season, it had run short of the easy story lines. I was waiting for the evil twins to turn up.

The O.C. was just that. Not to say other teen dramas weren't any good. There is still a couple out there that are good too. But The O.C. left quite an impression even though I was quite young when it all happened. And I can see why. The characters were flawed but even if they were rich, they were more like teenagers to us and that, I think, made us love them. That and any good qualities the characters did have. The show really spoke to the audience, even if it was about the show itself and the writers were glad to make fun of it as well. The setting is so memorable. Had it not been for all the antagonists and any of the characters that were really shallow, this could be paradise. The show left an impression on Orange County, whether it IS called The O.C. or not, we were introduced to Chrismukkah and the Yarmuclaus, Sandy Cohen got a scholarship/program named after him at UCLA, we were introduced to good non-mainstream music such as The Killers, Imogen Heap, Phantom Planet, Jeff Buckley, Patrick Park, and the list goes on. People may have grown to love nerds thanks to Seth Cohen and the way he was. And having Summer Roberts around and seeing her style change all throughout the show I feel part of the reason people loved the show was because of the fashion and not just Summer's style but all four, including Ryan and Marissa. As well as this, it's interesting to know that people really liked Marissa and could really relate to her. Ryan, I believe, is just as relatable and if you can try to understand his character, you can grow to appreciate just who he is and what he's like. People say that Seth is the guy every girl should have, but I believe Ryan fits that role more. And Sandy and Kirsten are amazing parents. Especially Sandy! All the main characters that are the adults don't act as the typical rich guy as much except for maybe Julie Cooper. And say what you will about The O.C. during its whole run but everything in this show is practically remembered and even iconic. Ryan getting involved with his brother's crime and Sandy getting him out and Ryan getting kicked out and living with the Cohens, Marissa overdosing in Tijuana, Seth and Anna and Summer's love triangle, Chrismukkah, Seth and Summer's first time, Oliver, Theresa, Caleb and Julie getting married and everything changing during that time, Seth dealing with Summer not wanting him back, Marissa being gay, Ryan's brother returning and his brother almost rapes Marissa, Ryan finding out and fights with his brother and the last scene that has a ton of parodies, Johnny, Volchock, Marissa's death, the earthquake in Newport, and the finale (especially the last few minutes). This show may as well be taken one look at. Starting with the first episode. Compare it to any teen drama that has come since The O.C. and it will really stand out even as it did ten years ago this coming August 5th.
