EP2 Part 2 Jan 24, 2017

It's 1984, and New Edition is in L.A. recording their second album. Ralph, fully aware of the resentment from his band mates, requests more parts for them to sing. The album is a huge hit; but Bobby's behavior gets more erratic and outlandish while on the road. Eventually tensions erupt, and the group dynamic takes a pivotal change - the boys vote to kick Bobby out - and New Edition is never the same. Soon Ralph decides that he wants to go solo, leaving remaining members Ricky, Mike, and Ronnie stunned. Mike, the group's de facto leader, adds R&B singer Johnny Gill to the group. Everything comes to an ugly head when the group meets to record their next album.

EP3 Part 3 Jan 26, 2017

New Edition's "Heartbreak" tour is an incredible success and the group is soaring high. Bobby, who has his own hit album "Don't Be Cruel", starts off as their opening act. But he soon eclipses them, becoming one of the biggest stars in R&B music. By 1990, all the members have launched hugely successful solo careers - even though there's tension bubbling under the surface between them. A few short years later when most of the guys are up to their ears in debt, they agree to do a reunion album and tour with all six members, including Bobby. This should be New Edition's rebirth, but things immediately get off to a bad start. In the aftermath, all six members go their separate ways, trying to navigate life after N.E., leaving little hope to maintain the brotherhood they once shared.

mixedma1214 This bio was amazing , told the side we didn't see and didn't know, the music flooded memories , and told the truths , of the things that changed those boys to men ! ***** Its hard to imagine the struggles and temptations that's involved with stardom . It's amazing to see where they are now and all that the have overcome.
jwilker-11098 With regard to expectations, this TV biopic of New Edition exceeded those and so much more. From night 1 to night 3, there was a sense that this could go on forever, or at least a few more nights. If you were a New Edition fan growing up or love black musical history, this miniseries was for you. I honestly think that BET could have stretched it out to a full 13-episode series (1hr) like the ones on Netflix. The production was great and the musical choices were awesome because it had the REAL music unlike some of these other TV biopics (*cough-cough LIFETIME). Also this was one of the most authentic biopics to date because BET was able to get the real characters that were involved. In short, watch this miniseries. You will NOT be disappointed. No spoilers here, just go watch the movie! 10/10
directorwright2657 Excellent! BET hit it out of the park!!! I have watched it 4 times and I continue to be even more impressed! BET has renewed my faith in them to tell the story of our culture! I love New Edition anyway for the music and now I feel like I know them as individuals and I love them more for sharing their story. The fact that these guys are still around and performing is amazing. It is so wonderful to see entertainers honored while they are still alive. It just makes it so much better. I am eagerly waiting for a new album and I was thrilled when I watched them get their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to hear Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis announce that they wanted to record a new album with the guys!!! This is going to be great!!Congratulations Rizz, Slick, Biv, Ron, JG and Bob, I love you all!!!!!!!!!!!! AND I must say, Rizz you are still my "Mack"....
Adarsh Bohra The New Edition Story was not a perfect TV show, but it was a perfect TV experience. It had just about every piece that a miniseries like that needs to have to make it feel weighty and worthwhile. It probably didn't hurt that the members of the group were producers on the miniseries. It has the ideal music group story line,It has the perfect group for this kind of thing,It has the neat little movie nerd tidbits in there. When It Was Over It felt like I'd been shoved out of a plane. I was 100 percent not expecting to feel that way about New Edition. Or any sort of way, really. It was right then that I realized how hard the show had worked to get to that point, and to draw out that specific response. It got me.I liked The New Edition Story a lot. Again: I didn't realize I felt that way until it was almost over — until it was almost too late, I suppose. But I guess that makes sense. And that might've even possibly been the point.
