vip_upad Thoroughly enjoyed this series. There are definitely some historical inaccuracies, particularly to how he got his injuries that lead to paralysis. However it really gives the viewer the essence of Bruce Lee's character, his affinity to learn & develop, his philosophy of life and his amazing work ethic. It's low budget at $6.4 million so forgive occasional mishaps-However the actor who plays Bruce Lee is absolutely amazing-a big mistake not to have used him in the latest Hollywood blockbuster but glad he did not-as that is full of too many historical mistakes. You will have to read subtitles though but that will mean you will have to respect Bruce Lee Li Xiao Long is of Hong Kong origin. For an intimate understanding of what drove Bruce Lee's genius this series is a must. I watched all 50 episodes on Netflix and loved it !!!!

Sure this is a low budget movie and most scenes (in America) were filmed with modern cars, but you can simply by-pass all of this if you think about the character Bruce Lee himself. Danny Chan did an outstanding job. He deserves more roles in acting.

unclecleo-66047 This series is such a mess in more ways than one. LMFAO!Music - Laughable! OMG! It's SO bad I couldn't stop cracking up at how cheesy it was. The intro music is super lame and there are times when the soundtrack sounds like the theme song to Night Court. The worst of all is a song they use in episode 14 that has a chorus that goes " Bruce Lee.. Bruce Lee.. Bruce Lee..". Seriously, you will die laughing. I've never heard a worse soundtrack ever. Who the hell signed off on this? LOL!Time Period - they obviously took zero consideration into what year it was. Costa Pizza boxes, Justin Timberlake t-shirt.. it's hilarious. Oh and not to sound racist but I'm pretty sure there weren't any black female police officers in 1959. Inaccuracy - I could write a list here of all the horribly inaccuracies of this film but it would take too long. There's one reviewer in the first 10 reviews who nails them all. Go read that. However, one truly ridiculous inaccuracy that has nothing to do with Bruce's story is the fact that the black female police officers are wearing patches on their uniforms that says "Police Academy". LOL! A murder investigation performed by cadets? It's as if the wardrobe director went to Goodwill and got a couple of used shirts. Hilarious! Also, did anyone notice how when they arrested him they never put him in handcuffs? You're arresting a guy as a murder suspect with no cuffs? WTF? LOL!At times the film speaks like a Chinese propaganda film. It's whole purpose is prove the Chinese people are superior to Japanese people. I'm fully convinced that Asians are the most racist people on earth. Give it a rest already. The only thing that's good about this film is the lead actor. He looks a lot like Bruce and does a good job portraying him. The guy who plays Master IP is pretty cool too, although he really didn't look like that. he was bald and clean shaven. But I guess making him look like the dude from KiIl Bill is just sexier. Again.. gotta love the comedic value. Sorry but "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" was way better. This comedic joke, "The legend of Bruce Lee" took 50 dragged-out episodes to tell the same story, an inaccurately at that. Don't waste your time. Final note: Shannon Lee... are you serious? You actually put your name on this garbage? Don't you think your dad would be a little upset? Kind of disrespectful to his legend.. the real one.

TV here has little Asian or Chinese content. .. produced by China TV etc on a tight budget, with Bruce's daughter assistance.. ............................................................ Best production about Bruce that I have seen. ... ....................... Now have watched 12 episodes, SURE there are errors etc, but its nice to watch .. its almost like being there. ............................ .. Danny Chan is really good, other supporting actors are also good ........Bruce was Cantonese,, he and his family would have spoken Cantonese. ... Also in Hong Kong, at that time,, most people would speak Cantonese. However as the film was prob aimed at the CHINA audience, its natural to use Mandarin Chinese. .................................................. The HK scenes look real, back shots etc however show HK as it is now.. ... Action scenes look great.. am looking forward to seeing the remaining episodes
