Synopsis

The Hollow Men are an English sketch comedy group consisting of David Armand, Nick Tanner, Rupert Russell, and Sam Spedding. The Hollow Men is also the title of their TV show broadcast in the United States by Comedy Central. The show follows the kind of silliness from sketch comedy shows like Monty Python's Flying Circus and The Kids in the Hall. The first and only season, consisting of six episodes, aired in early 2005. The group's name comes from a grim T.S. Eliot poem. In 2006 they broadcast a BBC Radio 4 sketch show, also of the same name. The radio show was recommissioned and a second series was aired in September 2007. Both series also featured Katy Brand.

daklatk1 I love this show. Many people tend to believe that this troupe is the reincarnation of Monty Python. Granted, they are British; however, the similarities stop there. Any fan of sketch comedy will instantly draw comparisons to The Kids In The Hall. I agree with this. Besides the obvious cross dressing aspect (which is well done), the Hollow Men's penchant for picking on the corporate world does the KITH service. I find many similarities in their types of comedy, almost to the point of blatant plagiarism (monkey spunk = monkey cum). It's genius nonetheless. I agree that this show was above Comedy Central's base audience, but that's not saying too much. I don't know why they try to bring on sketch comedy shows when they don't even give them a chance to grow (Exit 57, The Vacant Lot, Stella, etc, etc, etc...) The only sketch comedy show that they have right now is Mad TV which is crap at best and is painfully shown 136 times daily. Thank whatever higher power pertains to you that The Hollow Men can be found online on Comedy Central's motherload
metgirl I'm so disappointed I missed this show! Do they show reruns? I also despise Reno 911. I'm of the opinion watching that show (and some others I won't mention) suck brain cells out of your head.As for them being white men playing females, I'd definitely prefer it that way even if they had a female. Being PC generally kills the whole "funny" factor for me. There should be no reason to pander to any minority (be it something like race or gender or people who find Ellen Degeneres funny). Comedy is all about making fun of something, either directly or indirectly and these guys seem to do a very good job of it, especially David Armand. His "mime" of Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn" is what brought me to research this show.
General_G This show wasn't that great. Sure it had a couple chuckle sketches, but nothing like laugh out loud funny. It was corny at times and I hate corny. It didn't even have a live audience. You can tell they used sound track. You could kind of tell it wasn't going to last long. It might have been good for England, but not the United States. I think it was stupid that the only four cast members where all white English guys. The guys had to play women because they're weren't any women in the cast! If these guys tried harder it could have been better. Another failed comedy show from Comedy Central. They haven't had a good year. The only two good shows that came from that channel this year were Stella and Too Late with Adam Carolla.
asam3122 There hasn't been a good show that Comedy Central has made up since "Chappelle's Show." They premiered "The Hollow Men" in March and I didn't expect much. Four guys doing sketches like a lot of other shows are doing. I was proved wrong.Meet the next generation of Monty Python. This show is hilarious and has a lot of wit. The comedy is original. There's a sketch where there are two men at a porn magazine office. One is making up all these weird magazines and movies. The boss is rejecting them. Then, the boss's boss comes in and says that the guy is a genius and they've been looking for something like this for years.10/10.
