Like 'Firefly', this show could have gone on to be among the best ever made. This has extraordinary eye candy, great action, a superb cast, fantastic cars, outstanding tunes AND they bring so much funny you will bust some guts. If you don't own this on disc, you should! I can watch this every 2 or 3 years.

I will start by saying that I hate police drams like CSI. I hate any police drama that tries to be serious. That being said, I have not liked any police dramas since the early 1980s, until The Good Guys. This show has everything: car chases, explosions, people leaping through the air shooting at moving objects. What more could you want? As for plausibility, the producers here never let mere physics get in the way of an otherwise good script. I love it. I want more. This show brings back the excitement of the 70's cop/detective shows like Starsky and Hutch, or the Rockford files, and even borrows elements from them; Dan Lives in a trailer and drives a Firebird. There is even intense sexual tension between Jack and his Ex girlfriend. All this makes The Good Guys, truly fun and nostalgic. A must see.I really hope they film another season.

I love this show! I started watching it over the summer and I was hooked. The reason I started watching it was because it was created by Matt Nix, who is behind my other FAVE show, Burn Notice. In the Good Guys, Bradley Whitford as Dan Stark is side-splitting. He plays his character with such sincerity - Dan is a cop who loves being a cop. His partner, Jack Bailey (played by Colin Hanks) is the perfect foil. I really hope that this series hangs on. They did have a one or two episodes that seemed kind of sluggish, but the other episodes completely made up for them. Fox has a history of canceling shows before they really have a chance (Firefly, anyone?), but hopefully with 20-ish episodes under its belt, The Good Guys will be around for awhile.

I admit I was a little dubious while watching the pilot. But the team that put this one together deserved a little wiggle room. By the third episode I totally got it, and have heartily recommended it to my friends. Bradley Whitford nails the heck out of it, and Colin Hanks plays his part well. If you get a little uncomfortable watching them, then you are on the right track. They are uncomfortable together, they are supposed to be. But the relationships evolves, as all do. That's where the quality of the actors works its best. Even for the over-the-top nature of the show, there is an underlying reality that you can relate to. And its just damn entertaining!
