Could it be??? A mysterious shaft? Man made tools? Treasure? Or even a body??? No, it isn't. Not in the first episode, and not in the end of season 3. I just completed the three seasons that are available on Hulu. The show is repetitive, and it drags on too much from episode to episode. The producers of the show must think that viewers have no memory of what happened week to week, or even minutes ago. The content delivered is interesting, but only when it is new. Boil each season into 6 episodes, and it is at least an entertaining watch.

Lets start out with, I loved the show...
I really did I watched every episode all the way to the end of Season 05 Episode 13. I could have watched the first episode, a middle episode and the last episode (S05E13) and I don't think I would have missed anything. I realize it's a treasure hunt and they could come up empty, but I think the fake hype and the "coming up after the break" and "just before the break" repeating over and over is killing the show. I don't want to rant, but fix the show or cancel it. I'm personally taking a break from it for now... I know I won't miss anything. :-)

Expectations dictate whether you like this show. As for me, I love it, because it's like working next to the crew and discoveries show up only after methodical searching and exploration. That's what you get here. The science involved, the methodology, the technology used, the respect for previous hunters and involvement of so many people is great to watch. And each new discovery builds to an as yet conclusion. I hope Season 5 is picked up.

If ever there was a place for crackpot theories this is it.The most interesting thing about the show for me is the lengths to which people's imagination will stretch when they are presented which something they are unable to understand (even if others are). The persistence of the unanswered, in the face of repeated attempts to do so, gives you a sense of why people originally invented both religions and science. I'm glad that they have not tried to apply either here. A mystery is much more fun than an answer. The show has actually improved over the years. There is less constant repetition of exactly the same lines. No doubt that is what most annoyed most people in the first couple of series.Definitely one of my favorite shows.
