antonfransson_93 1.The writing seems flawed, maybe because of all the different directors that trying to make their screentime count.2. The characters have some cheesy characteristics and some lines are cringey from time to time.3. The city environment and clothing style is on point.4. So much potential but fall short.7/10
diegoartamayo This Netflix series is one of my favorites. The performance or the actors, especially the alienist was excellent. One of the most exciting thing is that you never know who the killer is, even when they think that are closer. The continuous fight with older policemen and political problems are going to make harder the work of this group of people, who wanted to change the history of murder's investigation.I´d recomended this tv show to anyone who likes the history and like to guess who the killer is.
rhiannon-71899 Started off very promising and I was intrigued enough to keep watching, however after about the 3rd/4th episode it started to bore me but I continued out of loyalty and it picked back up towards the end. So I'm my opinion it's worth watching if you've got the patience for it.
Michael_Ransom The Alienist is a good, solid show! It was gripping to the last episode when thy finally confront the killer! I was actually a bit sad when it was over becuause the 3 main chartacters have grown on me. Speeking of the main characters: I have read reviews where people complain about the female lead beeing a strong independant woman. Well, from what I understand she is portayed a strong personallity in the books so why shouldn't she in the show? Do you want faithfulness to the sourcemarterial or not? Make up your mind! Also do not listen to the book snobs. It might be true that a few things are different but when has there ever been a show or movie based on a novel that has been exactly like the novel? Never!I'm looking forward to the next seasom(s)!
