I cannot believe anything this NOT FUNNY would be given a series. The basic problem here is the writing. It is stale and awkward and totally devoid of anything even remotely funny. The characters are just embarrassingly bad - particularly the "Gay best friend".Eva Longoria just cannot do comedy. She has a very limited range. Comedy is not within that range. There is also absolutely NO chemistry between Longoria and Levy. Latinos deserve a genuinely funny sitcom - this is so NOT it. Watch it quickly, it will not be around past the initial ten episodes. Thank Goodness.

I had some doubts about this show, but I like to give it a chance whenever I can, and after 3 episodes, I have to say that it was surprisingly good, it's a nice TV show, it's unique and have good material to work with, so I hope this doesn't get a lazy show. It's funny to see Eva Longoria in such a comic character, she really plays well this type of character without seeming forced, and I like her relationship with Xavier but I wanna see how will she manage to keep in the show without speaking Spanish....It's going to be hilarious! So well done NBC, keep going because I'm stick with this show to see how far it can go.

I watched the first couple of episodes of this one. It's a very silly sitcom about life on the set of a telenovel series, with Eva Longoria as the shallow but well-meaning star dealing with the jealous ex-star and a host of insecure actors. The comedy is very broad, with pratfalls and sex jokes and punchlines underlined and bolded, but it's often quite funny, and I certainly laughed out loud a number of times in each episode. It's also very dumb and silly. Not smart-dumb, like Brooklyn 99, but straight-out, old-school mindless dumb. If there weren't so many other comedy series I like better (Brooklyn 99, Simpsons, The Grinder, Morty and Rick, Life in Pieces, Inside Amy Schumer, etc.) I would keep watching it, but there's only so much time in the day and it's a bit too dumb for me to fully enjoy, so I'll leave this one alone. But it is funny.

This is a behind-the-scenes type of comedy about the daily shooting of a telenovela (spanish speaking soap opera) and the lives of people involved with its creation. It is stylish, colorful with good comedic timing, decent jokes and good over-the-top performances from the cast. Mainly it exploits the stereotype of a Diva, the flashy popular female protagonist, who only cares about her image. The fun starts right from the beginning when you realize that the main star of the Telenovela (Eva Longoria) doesn't even ...speak Spanish!Although they *not* belong in the same genre, it is unavoidable to compare this, with another telenovela-ish series, Jane the Virgin (which I stopped watching after its first season finale). Telenovela is far more entertaining and light and fun and spares you from watching an actual melodrama. In a sentence: This is a witty comedy that will keep you entertained.
