Like other good shows in the genre this show was killed prematurly. Its a well executed melange of sci-fi,thriller and drama that was stopped right then when the sci-fi part became a dominant factor and the viewers were left with a giant cliffhanger. It is a well written and acted show.

I don't get it. Ever since internet movie websites like Netflix, I've watched 10-20 really good TV Shows that ended abruptly. Am I one of the few who was meant to watch shows like this? I absolutely hate other popular things on TV, but the ones that aren't popular are the ones I love the most. Well, I guess this show was popular but not enough. It's not like the acting sucked. The acting was perfect, and the story line was more than perfect. It had a good balance of mystery and revealing. I guess it cost too much to make Nimrod look real.I'm so hopeless. It's the weirdest feeling ever. I've never felt sad over the death of a person but I think that it feels like this this. The creation of clip is like a complex biological system with so many living organisms in one body making it work perfectly. All that complexity in one creation, living colorfully. It's not hard to feel as sad as a death of a loved one. That clip had a soul. The soul of that clip was married to my soul. But I am hopeless, and all I can do is watch it live and die.

Lake Bell is quite possibly one of the worst actresses I have ever had to endure. The personal insults about her looks are uncalled for, probably mostly just vitriolic women, but wow she seems annoying. It's like watching a nativity play in a nut house. If I had ever seen porn, which obviously I would never have done as a 30 something single man, I would expect better acting from the lady that 'comes to fix your pipes'.I must like the show to be six episodes in but I'm becoming increasingly annoyed by some of the woeful acting on display. It's not like it is a tongue cheek, poking fun at itself type of acting, it is just dismal. The sister of the nerd kid, with the stripper's name, is pretty. Pretty disappointing in her range. Apparently she is quite well known now. I'm glad she's stayed off my radar. Their mum is also not the greatest. The best actors in this decent show are the two boys who do well with some not quite up to par CGI.The insurance man is OK, considering what he has to work with and his wife seems like a realistic character so far, so I must give credit to her.The scientists and feds are all pretty standard and uninspiring.I love the story so far though and I will persist. I just feel that whoever had the concept must be sorely disappointed by the execution of their vision.Decent family friendly show with an interesting story. Just prepare yourself for some amateur hour acting.

Thanks to the miracle of Roku, I'm finally getting around to seeing one of the least thrilling, and more illogical science fiction confections in years. Thankfully, I'm only wasting a hangover on this, and it's only the misery of alcoholic over-service that puts any suspense to this lackluster effort.Pulling elements from the Periodic Table of Audience Magnetism, the producers combine all the hits: Big, scary, rarely-seen giant people eaters! A cute baby alien! An unpopular, white, middle-class teenage boy! His nerdy peer group that keep him one step ahead of The Man! A shadowy government conspiracy! An angry, impatient - yet inherently lovable? - Everyman cowboy that wants the World To Know About The Aliens! The hottie marine biologist that nobody listens to, until it's too late!Under a better director, or an inspired writer, these entirely too familiar movie components might form a sweet - if not completely satisfying confection. But "Surface" is artlessly congealed, like a concrete slurry. And I could live with the utter lack of suspense if any of the characters were likable or had anything interesting to say. But the wooden dialog is the perfect frame for their unrealistic witlessness.
