Yesterday I saw "Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist" on DVD with my wife and two friends and two of us have taken a nap along the movie. We all find it very boring with tedious story and screenplay. There are two parallel similar stories of Ken, Riy and their master Gôken in the present days and young Gôken, Gôki and their master Gôtetsu in the 50's while learning to fight "Ansatsuken" with different conclusions.Reading IMDb Ihave just found that "Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist" is indeed a TV Mini- Series. Based on the IMDb User Rating, it seems that out opinion it might be based on a problem with the compilation. My vote is five.Title (Brazil): "Street Fighter: Punho Assassino" ("Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist")

If you like martial arts and video games, then there is no excuse not to watch this. It's a Street Fighter non-cartoon that is actually good, yes really! I'm a gamer, and Street Fighter is one of my favorites so I may be a little biased. But I have been burned in the past, so I typically avoid movies that aren't a sure thing. Still I heard good things about this, finally bought it for my 7 year old who is crazy about Street Fighter, and I was very much pleasantly surprised. It even caught the attention of my wife and she stopped what she was doing to watch half of it... that's right my wife who has never sat through an entire movie while at home, ever, much less 5 minutes of a martial arts flick! This is very much the story of Ryu and Ken, Akuma and Gouken. It is very Japanese, in that it's set entirely(?) in Japan and has a fair bit of Japanese dialog. The older Japanese actors and the young lady are what made it for me... they were quite convincing. The other guys did a fine job as well. The fighting was more than respectable, and you could tell these guys knew what they were doing. The effects are not Hollywood, but they are not emphasized much and the other aspects of the movie make up for it.

I never thought the trailers were serious. Well I didn't think that could be an actual movie. And yet I serendipitously watched this series today, and I can assure you that this is a great series.Possibly the best adaptation that I have seen so far ! The art, the technique, the philosophy, the cast, the story, everything came out perfectly. It evens surpasses the fan's expectations. The series begins slowly, we don't care about the introduction of the character, and fine, because there is none. The martial art approach was well thought out. From climax to final battle I was glued on my seat watching this. This series is so good, there is no word to explain it further, just watch and enjoy!

I'm an hardcore Street fighter fan and I just CAN'T BELIEVE the glorious reviews this piece of crap received here. This movie is just a plain waste of time, boring as hell and making the Van Damme movie look great. I watched it with 2 friends and we got critically bored around the 6th episode ... the series have 14 of them ... the rest was just TORTURE. No climax, here, when it stops you're left wondering if you missed something, almost no characters except for Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Gouken, predictable as hell ... no ... as ALPHA TURBO HELL' !THIS IS A NIGHTMARE. But you know, there is a light at the end of the tunnel 'cuz one great SFII movie actually exists, the ANIME released in 94 ... just check this one out instead (or watch it again if you've already seen it).
