The Character don't come close to reaching their depth and development in the 2007 series, But Tartakovsky's animation more than makes up for it.

This series was what made me interested into the Star Wars saga when I was only 4 years old. Then I never got a change to watch it until 14 and I was amused that it was created by Genndy Tartakovsky (creator of Dexter's Laboratory,Samurai Jack Sym Bionic Titan and Hotel Transylvania 1 and 2 ).Years later, then came that brilliant CGI Star Wars:The Clone Wars series.PLOT:Takes place between the events of Star Wars Episode II & III.Where the Clone Wars has spread across The Galaxy and its up to Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker,Obi-Wan Kenobi,Master Yoda and Mace Windu to take down the evil forces of Count Dooku and Darth Sidious.9/10 CHARACTERS:Each character in this series was given there own episodes, including The Clones.E.g.Mace Windu kicking droid ass,Obi-Wan leading the clones into battle,Count Dooku training his new apprentice,Assajj Ventress,a forcesensitive woman who joined the Sith prior to the events ofseries,Master Yoda and Padme defending a sacred Jedi temple, bad ass Grievous kidnapping Chancellor Palpatine and last, but not least,Anakin Skywalker who defeated Ventress, saved a tribe of primitive aliens whilebeing influenced to becoming the evil Darth Vader.Despite lack of character development, all the characters on this show were likable andno Jar Jar Binks.7/10 ANIMATION:Like Samurai Jack,it was also one of the best well animated cartoons at that time and matched theremovements.10/10 In conclusion, the series even won five Golden Emmy Awards, including Best Animation Complexion and Best Outstanding Television Series.Star Wars:The Clone Wars and this series will forever better than the crappy Prequel Trilogy. 8/10

Honestly the only reason this gets only a 9/10 is for wiggle room. I feel like this is best when watched as a movie and the story is amazingly crafted. The villains are the main forces behind the story, driving it forward by sending bad-ass villains out and the villains really are great. In general the action is fantastic having fluid movement and satisfying sounds. In many ways it is like Samurai Jack having many quiet moments, little dialogue and lots of visual storytelling. The arcs are well set up with great cliffhangers and it never becomes boring, ensuing your continued attention. The characters don't speak much but they do develop and interact realistically. Really my only issue with the story is that it's stuck within the titular Clone Wars, preventing it from having a "complete" ending though that's not to say it isn't satisfying. There isn't much more to say honestly. Excellent animation, compelling characters, well told story, AMAZING villains and great music and sound effects. If you haven't watched this yet trust me it's worth it. If you have then well... watch it again? It's that good.

I popped in the DVD for Volume 1 right after it came in the mail. Being a lifelong and all-encompassing Star Wars fanatic, including the non-canon literature, concepts, etc., I had to purchase this DVD, and I will still have to purchase Volume 2.I was a bit disappointed at first though, because it is SO SHORT! I want more and more and more and I'm sure the upcoming live-action Star Wars TV series will give me that. The episodes are only 15 minutes long, so Volume 1 is only just over an hour long in run-time.While short, the content is good, covering the intermediate time between Episodes II and III and incorporating some interesting story lines. Familiar planets like Dantooine, Mon Calamari and Yavin 4 are tossed into the prequel story arc, and new locations like the home planet of the Banking Clan, Muunilist, are introduced. This is a plus for any serious Star Wars fan. Anyone with a good knowledge of Episodes II and III can follow and understand what is going on in the animated episodes. While the action sequences are good for a cartoon-version of Star Wars, I felt the dialogue was severely lacking. And I'm not looking for a masterful interaction of the cartoon's characters throughout the entire 67 minutes of the DVD. But there were several sequences that lasted several minutes without any spoken words. The tactical scene with the ARC troopers on Muunilist was well-put-together, but why can't the ARC troopers be given dialogue? Several minutes of mere hand signals and motions got irritating without even one word uttered to accompany them. This was the same for Mace Windu's sequence in Volume 1. Two human characters should be able to interact verbally with each other if they are in the same vicinity for more than a few seconds, and this didn't happen, whether for budgeting or style purposes. Mind you, I am posting this only after watching Volume 1, so I'm not sure of the dialogue quality in Volume 2.I love Star Wars. I give Star Wars priority over pretty much all other films and series/sagas/etc. And the Clone Wars is a must-have for the die-hard fan. But the terrible dialogue, or lack-thereof, forces me to only give it a 6.
