Then, Simone is asked to speak at the Orange Ball; Cassie does business with her ex, Xander; Maurice gets a blast from the past; and someone's fate is revealed.

Carlotta and Gravity throw a Legend Tribute concert to campaign for the ASA Awards. When Star's health takes a turn for the worse, Simone is put in a difficult decision. Meanwhile, Alex attempts to trust her family again, Cassie and Maurice's relationship reaches new heights and Noah grapples with his reality after a visit from his mother, Dianne. Gigi makes a career changing choice and Cassie takes matters into her own hands with her father.

Star struggles to juggle Davis and her career, and clashes with Noah's mom, Dianne. Meanwhile, Alex plans for her future and Simone doubles down on her activism, which puts Angel in danger.

Everyone is on edge, but the girls must stay focused on the events leading up to the ASAs. Star and Noah struggle with parenthood while being in the spotlight, as Alex deals with her father's retaliation for her refusing his "gifts." Meanwhile, Cassie continues to manage Rashad's music career and Carlotta makes a shocking discovery that will change the lives of many.

EP18 When the Levee Breaks May 08, 2019

The ASAs finally arrive and Take 3 fights Amber Drake for the top spot. Alex prepares for her wedding, but someone from her past returns to wreak havoc on her big day. Meanwhile, Star finally makes a decision about Davis, Carlotta continues to mend things with Rashad and the season ends with a bang.

Synopsis

Star is a tough-as-nails young woman who came up in the foster care system and decides one day to take control of her destiny. She tracks down her sister, Simone, and her Instagram bestie, Alexandra, and together, the trio journeys to Atlanta with the hope of becoming music superstars.

camzeke To be honest season 2 was defiantly better than season 1 Especially at the end of the winter Finale, my point is don't judge something when you haven't even watched at least half of it, judging something cause you only watched episode 1 is something repulsive to the people who worked so hard on this masterpiece well not masterpiece, just set all feelings aside and give it a try. I didn't like the first couple episodes of it but now I'm watching it every Wednesday, now its killing me cause I have to wait after my birthday to watch the rest of it.

Yvonne James I am a Lee Daniels fan and was looking forward to another great production -- The Butler, Monsters Ball, Empire for example. However, after looking at the last show (Feb 8), I'm disappointed. Too melodramatic and way, way over-the-top stereotypes. And the characters are just not believable - especially the girl group. The "little rich girl" I think is the weakest character - most unbelievable because she does not seem to be sincere nor can I relate to her as a sympathetic character. Star looks a little old/worn for her age, but I think she is a likable character. Good things about the show are the music, choreography, and Daniels' directing style - flashbacks and camera shots, and using guest stars/cameos as he did in Empire. I will continue to look at the show only because I am a Lee Daniels fan, and it is better than some other shows such as Perry's Too Close To Home.

ajax-74631 ...I usually gives new shows a couple of episodes before I totally write them off. And because it has a proved producer/director as well as a star that I've like from wayyyyy back, I decided to give it a solid chance. The show has substance and depth. It's interesting with the right amount of music, humor and edginess. I have to admit, I didn't expect Oscar or Emmy award winning performances. I just wanted something entertaining with a good storyline, good writing and good acting. It has all of that. So I look forward to watching it each week to see just how far this adventure will go in an hour (of relaxation and entertainment after a hard day's work).
