Minahzur Rahman I've seen so many animated series when it comes to superheroes, and this is one of my favourite ones. Not only because Spiderman is one of my favourite superheroes, but the episodes was full of quality: it almost had everything you would hope to see. I remember this show appearing regularly on Fox Kids, and I would always watch Spiderman at home. The animated series has all your favourite villains including the Lizard, Sandman, Venom, Shocker, Scorpion, Kingpin, Rhino and Mysterio. It even had a crossover with the X-Men which was also another excellent animated series. You couldn't ask for anything more - really!
GreenGoblinsOckVenom86 That's why I give this an 8/10. In the first season Spidey fights some robots called Spider Slayers. The first season had some of my favorite villains like Kingpin (though I hated as the seasons went on he was pretty much behind everything and making all the other villains work for him with the exception of Allyster Smythe and Silvermain and his daughter Alicia), Doc Ock, Venom/Eddie Brock (I liked the development Eddie Brock had before he became Venom), Hob Goblin (voiced by Mark Hamill who does an excellent job just like he did with Joker on all the animated Batman cartoons in the 90s), Mysterio, Hydro Man (who I didn't care for) and Scorpion. The later seasons were good. I really liked season 2 where they introduced Morbious who hadn't been in a cartoon at all previously. After season 3 it went downhill a bit. Let me explain my main gripe with season 4. At the end of season 3 Green Goblin throws Mary Jane off a bridge and she falls into a dimensional portal made by a device called the time dilation accelerator which had been in a previous episode. She is not seen again. Then in season 4 she suddenly appears again. But unfortanatley it turns out she's a clone created by Dr. Miles Warren (who in the comics had cloned Gwen Stacey cause he was in love with her and also had an alter ego The Jackel). What's also stupid is that it turns out she was cloned with Hydro Man's DNA. He had died in the first season but then they had him cloned by this Miles Warren. Hydro Man was a guy that was in love with Mary Jane when she was younger. He wanted to be with her and forced Miles Warren to clone her. This is nothing at all like the original clone saga of the comics. Though Hydro Man never had a relationship with Mary Jane in the comics which is a reason why I didn't like him in the cartoon. There were some good episodes in Season 4 like the ones where Harry is the Green Goblin or the trial of Robbie Robertson. Or the ones with Black Cat. But the clone saga was done rather poorly. Now the 5th season was kind of good though I would've left the clone saga out of the finale. Not to mention the last 2 episodes take place in an alternate universe where Peter Parker loses Aunt May and turns to a life of crime. I do kind of like these last 2 episodes but I really would've rather it ended with Spidey rescuing Mary Jane from the dimension she was stuck in. Another episode I didn't care for in season 4 was one where an actress who I don'tremember ends up a cyborg and is in love with Mysterio/Quentin Beck/Mysterio. They both end up blowing themselves up in an underground facility. I really thought that was dumb. That wasn't in the comics either. Overall this is a good show but the later episodes in season 4 aren't that good. Oh. I forgot. Another part of season 4 was good. It was called Six Forgotten Warriors and deals with Peter's parents. It was really good.
jschroeck92 I grew up watching this series and I loved it. I was always looking forward to watching this when I came home from school back in the 90's. Its perfect with great story lines, well-based off of the original comics. The only thing that was missing was Gwen Stacy but I was perfectly fine with that. The creators did a great job. I only wish someone could make a new Spiderman TV series, just as good as this one, with well drawn characters (not the stupid Japanese anime crap) that the children of our generation today could love Spiderman as much as I did.The villains in this series are amazing, my favorite is Carnage. If you actually compare this series to the original comics, it is actually so close to being exact. That's what people want! They want a classic Spiderman based off of the original comics. Not like the crap movies that have Toby McGuire in them. He is a terrible Peter Parker. This series is totally worth it. Check it out on Netflix.
Marx_Bros_Fan86 This show was a lot of fun up until the last season, but even after it jumped the shark it still had a few great episodes. Practically all of Spider-Man's enemies made an appearance at some point. Looking back at this series now, I appreciate the well rounded portrayal of Peter Parker. He is a nerd and a boyscout, but he has a funny, sarcastic side as well. I felt the Spider-Man movies made Parker look like he was constantly depressed and really stressed out. The show might have focused too much on the Kingpin and not enough on the Green Goblin, Spider-Man's REAL Arch-Nemesis. I liked the voice actors. Christopher Daniel Barnes IS Peter Parker in my mind. Edward Asner was a great J. Jonah Jameson, and Mark Hamill of Star Wars fame was a good Hob Goblin. The show declined after they softened up the Death of Gwen Stacy story by replacing Stacy with Mary Jane and having her get sucked into some weird Dimension X portal. It really jumped the shark with the Hydro Man clone episode. But I still recommend this series. I hope the whole show is released on DVD.
