Reviews

handlebar I'm not sure that the previous reviewer actually saw Roughnecks, as it was a funny, touching and dramatic series - very well received at the time in 1994, and contrary to her assumption, went on to a second series in 1995. She neglected to mention that the cast also included (among many others) Ricky Tomlinson, Ben Mendelsohn, Ashley Jensen and Sharon Small. There were strong individual story lines for the ensemble cast and the first series ended with an action packed rescue at sea from a crashed helicopter involving all the characters, which highlighted the health and safety issues of working in the North Sea oil rigs following such real life disasters such as Piper Alpha in 1988.
