I just finished watching Christian Slater in "Murder In The First" and immediately it came to mind how very disappointed I was when this TV series was canceled, as it was a standout amongst the sea of sameness that dominates prime time and some of cable. Excellent acting (I think Christian Slater is a much underutilized and underrated actor)and equally fine cinematography, the likes of which we seldom see on TV. For those user reviewers that seemed confused by the plots lines, I can only say that not only is this a thinking man's series, it also demands that the viewer be fully engaged (like Rubicon on AMC that was also canceled). This is not a thirty minute sitcom nor is it a standard formulaic drama. It offers something different, wrapped in quality presentation.

I know that it has been a long time since it came on TV, but i just watched the whole season on my computer and i thought it was a really great show. I really think they should bring it back on to TV. i don't think they really finished it they just kinda left you hanging and they could make a really interesting second season if they tried. I think people would watch it if they knew about, but i didn't hear about it so i didn't watch it on TV it wasn't really ever a big show because y'all ended it to soon, but i would really love it if they would bring it back on to TV again. I know i am probably coming of as a little immature but i really would love it if they brought it back and i bet a lot of other people will too.

My Own Worst Enemy is probably the best new show this year, and it looks pretty promising. It has the right amount of action, drama, and humor in it,and the script is somewhat original compared to the usual we-are-cops-and-we-fight-crime shows.Yes there have been lots of fictions about secret agents before, but here, it deals with split personalities, the reaction of a normal person turned into a professional killer, and the way an antisocial and ruthless agent can manage his everyday family life. The actors are also all very convincing, especially Christian Slater, who, in my opinion, deserves an award for his performance as Henry/Edward. That said, I really don't understand why this show should be canceled by the network. I think it just needs time to find its public.

When this show first started, I really liked the idea. Christian Slater was believable in his transitions, and the pilot steered clear of frenetic camera work and Paul Greengrass-style editing. But the more it plays, the more I see it making the same mistakes that FX made with "The Riches." It's becoming somewhat joyless to watch. The plots dig down into a sort of hopelessness that requires Henry to be constantly bailed out by some hitherto unknown ally or circumstance. All in all, it has great potential, but takes itself far too seriously, and stays too dark. "24" was constantly dark, but it stayed popular by offering up some escapist thrills and a very likable protagonist. Right now, "My Own Worst Enemy" is dark, but not nearly as likable.
