Synopsis

Murder Prevention was a British police drama inspired by the real-life Homicide Prevention Unit within the Metropolitan Police. It was produced for Five by World Productions who previously produced the television series The Cops. The series consisted of three two-part stories. Later repeats edited the two-parters so that they were screened as three longer running episodes. According to series creator Declan Croghan, "Murder Prevention is the first pre-crime drama ever, anywhere."

Reviews

pawebster I caught episode two of this on BBC Prime, the BBC's somewhat ropey entertainment channel shown outside the UK. It just occasionally shows programs made by other broadcasters. This programme is well done and well acted by everybody in it. It's fast moving, too. The episode I saw wasted no time on side issues or on love triangles, etc., among the police. It also managed to avoid the usual 'You're off the case' stuff, without which most cop shows cannot exist. Its premise gives it an original touch that differentiates it from all the other tough cop shows that are around.Be warned that it includes the F-word at frequent intervals.I intend to keep watching.
