OMG .. Patricia Arquette is sooo bad at acting. Bad crying scenes, bad facial expressions, bad acting, bad voice!! OMG!!If this was cast with someone with some talent it would have been great. Jake Webber is superb and so are all the kids and all the side actors. She is soo soo soo fake .. am I the only one who thinks so? Common ... didn't the producers realize this?? I mean have you seen that woman start to cry?? I just stop the TV .. take a deep breath and fast forward the crying scene every time ... it is so annoying. The story line is superb and all the supporting actors are great!!. This woman should NEVER act again .. she is that bad!! she got worse over the seasons as well. I know that the story is supposed to support her intuition ... but every time she tries to convince about something I just want to run away and never look at the show. Please recast this woman with someone with even minimal talent and have medium show again. I will NEVER ever put myself through the torture watching Patricia Arquette again ... I just loved the story line and Jake Webber so much that I suffered through Medium even with this freaking annoying woman!!!

I recently started to watch the series on Netflix. One of the first few episode the family is planning a 28 birthday party of Allison. A couple of episodes later they state that Ariel is 10. It seemed as I watch the show she met her husband while he was finishing up his degree (Masters?). In the flashback wedding episode, I could have sworn the Joes's mom said she said he was 28 but with the years married in the beginning of the show that would make Allison 18. Anyone else catch that?By the way, this has to be one of the most real t.v. relationships I have watched and I have been glued to the tube since a babe. I honestly believe in the marriage and love of the children. There is conflict even in a loving relationship. Last but not least, I am so happy Patricia A. told producers she would not lose weight because she was a mom of three. Thank you for leaving a normal looking woman on t.v

Based on a real woman who has psychic powers that allow her to see dead people and then use this information to help solve crimes, Medium has a great deal to recommend it. We just do not get the story of this housewife, but the story of her dreams, her family, the effects of her dreams on her family, her daughters psychic tendencies, her amazing true love for her husband, her innate integrity to do the right thing, and of course the crimes and murderers involved in some truly spine-tingling, suspenseful stories. We get recurring characters from home, work, crime, and even from dreams. All this is glued together by the creative vision of the production staff and creator Glen Gordon Caron AND the absolute dead-on portrayal of a very underrated(and gorgeous as well as blessed) actress, Patricia Arquette. Let's talk first about Caron and crew. I marveled(often - having watched every episode - at the creativity in each of the stories, the writing, the quality of script, production, acting, etc... Sometimes a story would unfold in a very unique manner. Totally unexpected. The prevailing format was always there in some form but generally buttressed with amazing creativity. Arquette is a down-to-earth goddess. She is beautiful but not in that woman on a pedestal manner(model-type). She plays normal very, very well. This is good as much of the show(if not most of it sometimes) deals with her with her family. How many shows open with the main characters, bed hair and all, lying asleep and then abruptly awakened after some suspenseful dream or vision? Arquette, though put really in many, many unflattering situations, always was a beautiful woman - within and without. She also has the wonderful voice. Needless to say, she makes this show work, but she has a lot of help. All of the support characters are good, but Joe, her husband played by Jake Weber, allows it to work for Arquette which allows it to work for the show. I guess what I am saying is that this is truly a collaborative effort. As for the other performers, all of the girls are good(Maria Lark as Brigette is a real hoot!). Miguel Sandoval and David Cubitt are exceptional as the DA and a lead police investigator respectively. Arliss Howard, as Captain Kenneth Push, is outstanding in his three episodes(he is in the pilot). The show is filled with many great performances by many gifted actors - well-known and not so well-known. We get Tom Wopat, Angelica Huston,Tracy Pollan, David Morse, Mark Sheppard(as the truly creepy Dr. Charles Walker), Neve Campbell, Mitch Pillegi, Dean Norris, Kelly Preston, Kathy Baker, Kurtwood Smith(as FBI agent Cooper), and even Elvira makes a brief cameo in one episode. There are few shows I would - or could - say this about: I felt like the show was cut too soon and had a bit(quite a bit) more juice in it. I enjoyed seasons six/seven almost as much as the first season. It is just a real good program. One small dislike, and it is not the ending - I didn't have a huge problem with that though probably would have preferred something else - why in the world did they ever change the actor playing Allison's brother. He was played by Ryan Hurst - very well I might add. In the last season he was played by Patricia Arquette's real brother David. He was not very good I thought. At any rate I highly - very highly - recommend Medium.

If you like suspense and twists, then Medium is your show to watch. I have enjoyed watching the show and enjoyed all the characters but I must admit that Patricia Arquette did get on my nerves at times while in character and although she was the star of the show, she was my least favorite character on it.All the seasons were good but the show was "losing its steam" in the last half of season 6 and again in the final season, as the plots were just not as good as previous ones were. Obviously producers were running out of ideas when they had Allison turn on Scanlon in one episode and later in another episode she betrays Devalos. After all those 3 have been through together, you just can't do that as a producer and expect that to be accepted and believed by the viewer. As for the final episode, well in my opinion producers continued their bad streak and got it wrong again. You MUST keep that family intact throughout, from beginning to end. They completely ruined it with Joe's death. A much better final episode would have been for Allison to find out she was pregnant, she and Joe wonder how they can go on with their careers while raising another child. Then they can fast forward to the future, in the end, of the entire Dubois family attending the High School graduation of the son Joe and Allison never had, until now.Overall I enjoyed the series and recommend it highly.
