Synopsis

A loving (but immature) father is committed to co-parenting his two kids with his very-together ex-wife. While his misguided fatherly advice, unstoppable larger-than-life personality and unpredictable Internet superstardom might get in the way sometimes, for Marlon, family really always does come first - even if he's the biggest kid of all.

Reviews

LuvsTheMountains Marlon has undeniable charisma. However it is over the top here and does not serve the show. Additionally, the show's writing and characters are boring and at times preachy. It's as if someone decided to pick a social topic, insert a popular, but false bias, (for instance too many white people in a room equals automatic racism) and then built a episode around that.
SnoopyStyle Marlon Wayne (Marlon Wayans) is an internet influencer and pitchman. He is divorced from his wife Ashley but finds himself spending more time with her and their 2 young kids at their suburban home. He often clashes with her best friend Yvette. His slacker friend Stevie is crashing at his large apartment. Marlon is the clown and the fool of the show. He would much better as the wacky best friend. As the leading man, he gets annoying real fast. The laugh track does not help especially when there are no laughs to be had. The wife is being the wife. Yvette is the standard sassy black girl. Stevie is a charisma sinkhole. I actually like the kids very much. This is an old style sitcom with Marlon going crazy trying to inject life into the formula. Apparently, there is no work place and therefore, the action takes place mostly in the two homes. Other network sitcoms with minority casts are doing better work. This one fails even as a traditional sitcom. I am surprised by the second season renewal and I hope for a quick end.
anteek-03239 I really enjoyed this show. Marlon Wayons is hilarious. Much like Jerry Lewis back in the day. I enjoy the supporting cast. They really seem to have a good vibe. I don't understand the bad reviews I read. I think some people are just haters. In this time of disasters, bad politics, hate and racism we need mindless comedy to distract us from what's really going on in the world. We all need a good laugh sometimes. I know I do.
coolcatrina This is the best comedy I've seen since the TV show dads was canceled. I laughed the whole time 😁 We are constantly bring up some Of the scenes through out the week. Those are the best shows the ones you don't forget! Marlon has always been really funny to me as is his family. Its natural for them it seems and you feel you can go right along with them 😉 this show is just more proof.
