Too bad, UPN didn't give this show a chance. I liked it. Richard Grieco is better know for his role on 21 Jump Street but he plays a Jersey born guy who moves to Hawaii and becomes a private investigator. They haven't shown this show in a while so my memory is pretty vague. I would have liked to seen more of it for the scenery in Hawaii and the cast. THey had some good stories but I would have liked to see this show again if given the opportunity but it's been so long anad I would have liked if it showed up in repeats or even on DVD. Marker had a chance but nobody knew about it so I would recommend this show if you liked to see Hawaii. I thought 11 years ago that I would be there by now and come home for visits but I have not been there once but I have visited London 4 times so it's one of my favorite places on earth.

This was a unique show, smart, funny, with a little bit of everything. It had action and beautiful people, an amazing setting (Hawaii) and humor, and it had talent. I watched every episode, which is quite a rarity for me. I tend to wait until a show is 'seasoned' before I join the rank of viewer. However, this one drew me in from the start. Playing Richard Grieco's rebellious nature against Gates McFadden's more rigid social standards made for great moments. Someone needs to pick this show back up. Hello Hollywood - there are Americans that want to see smart and funny TV. West Wing, ER, CSI, Marker could be right there. Maybe Aaron Sorkin can join the creative staff. Just make sure you get Grieco and McFadden back. Writing is one thing, talent like that to enhance - so much more.

A short lived series on what would come to be known as UPN, Marker was a clever and fun detective show that was never really given a fair chance. From the kinds of roles he's been stuck doing, one would think Richard Grieco wasn't a very good actor, but he is very underrated. Best known as hunk cop "Booker" (bad boy foil to Johnny Depp) from 21 Jump Street and later from his own short lived TV series "Booker", Grieco turns in solid performances again and again. He is best suited to television, where his good looks can charm the ladies.Marker centered around Grieco as "Richard DeMorra", a kind of semi-loser type who had a major falling out with his extremely rich father years back. When his father dies, Richard is left a series of markers, which his father gave out to people he liked that they could then cash in at any time for a favor. The writing was good, and the not-quite-a-detective storyline was very original. The markers were great storyline props.Disappointing it ended so soon.
