A randomly meshed together collection of staged scenes of meetings and so on this show is the worst of the worst. No logical way of presenting its content it's hard to watch and the 'contestants' are mostly unredeemabke figures who have every intent of creating a twitter storm and having a boost in popularity following their time on this mess. Absolutely awful avoid at all costs

I fist started watching this program when in 2005 when it was "celebrity love island". I really liked it because back then reality shows were not as common. It then came back in recent years as just "love island" and I have mixed feelings about this program. I have watched every series and to be honest I think each season got worse as they went on. I enjoyed series 1 and 2 because they had more genuine people in it, but I still think that the message the program sends to young people these days is a bad one, because its saying in so many words that you have to look a certain way to be socially excepted. For example, you should have big muscles and have a six pack if you are a man, and should to be skinny ,with big lips and big boobs if you are a girl.
I was intrigued by the story line in season 2 when the current "Miss Great Britain" at the time, Zara Holland, had her title taken off her, because she had sex in the villa. I agree that this was the correct thing to do, even though sex is a natural thing, she was representing a brand in a way,and should have been more reasonable. I think having sex on TV is now being considered as a normal thing to do because so many reality starts are doing it. Also Zara didn't have the best personality and I don"t think she was the best person to be representing "Miss Great Britain". She had a very deluded view of herself, she wasn't that bright, was very self centered, and had could be considered to have an annoying personality. Myself, and many other people that I spoke to, were very surprised she had that title.
The show recently reached an all time low, in the series that is currently being aired. A male participant displayed abusive personalty traits , which in turn, resorted in a abuse awareness charity to come forward and make people aware that his behavior on the show is abusive and unacceptable. However, ITV failed to remove him from the show and he is currently in it. I am assuming this is because he is increasing viewing figures. This type person being in the Villa doesn't surprise me at all. It seems like each year the people that go in get worse. Most people in there are selfish, narcissist idiots, that only want fame and are no in it to find love at all. They are incredibly fake , they all pretend to like someone ,and be someones friend, but will stab each other in the back without question for self gain.
The show recently acknowledged the death of an ex love island contestant, Sophie Gradon. Her death was caused my suicide and was thought to be a combination of that fact she was in financial trouble, and was being bullied by trolls online. Some of ex islanders have come forward and suggested that there is not enough support when individuals exit the villa, and they suggest that could have contributed towards her death. There is also a friend of Sophies in the villa currently, who is unaware of her death, and ITV have failed to tell her. I would imagine this is purely for selfish reasons.
However, the show is very addictive and I have unfortunately am going to continue to watch it because even though I know ti is pure garbage, I have watched too many episodes to stop. Hopefully next year I will not watch this trash TV.
