gns-52992 I couldn't continue to watch season 2 from the second episode:/ ... First season was amazing tooooo bad what they did in season 2 :/
Brave-Traveler.asf (Brave_TraveIor) When this show premiered I had high expectations because it was just off the heels of season 2 of a masterful Fargo. Noah Hawley had become huge to me. Is exceeded the expectations of a flawless first season of the FX series imo with Fargo. So, a show with these coming attractions that is his own Legion taken, I was thrilled. But...I read mass reviews of users that didnt like it. There were positive reviews, it's just that the negative is always louder than the positive on the internet. One thing remained though, it scored high with critics. So, after a few I decided to hold off and then all the streaming content and life-----2 seasons later I had not seen a single episode. The objective POV.I dont like series that are bizarre for bizarre sake. Visceral series are superb when you're talking about Hannibal imo, because it has STORY! One thing I care about as a reader, writer, and viewer is a story! I need a great plot. I'm a story teller and i love stories. I refuse to watch something that lacks plot and goes for stylistic approach. But...As season 2 was heading towards it ending, I couldnt help but be alarmed at the negative and hate it recieved. So many viewers had reneged on this series that had loved the first season. This made me more intrigued to watch it. Something was wrong because still a critically acclaimed series that was getting low viewership like the Americans, and hateboles were the new trend.June 2018 I started it. Holy shit! After episode 4 I was hooked but after episode 5 I said, "That just gave me a mind orgasm!" The fifth episode was that good, with the first next to it. Then the sixth, well, if parcs and recs fans saw it---it was cause trauma or PTSD because of the incredible Aubrey Plaza. So you get the point...the first season was absolutely awesome. It was a movie over the course of episodes. There absolutely was a straightforward story behind the smoke and mirrors but I was among unpopular opinion where I didnt believe all the style was for style sake. No! Infact I'll tell you why this show had to be this way. After the finale of the second series ONLY did I then read about legion and the original source material. First of all, my favorite show is Mr. Robot, so DID (dissociative identity disorder is something I love), but with legion it's all about what's real and mental illness. All of his personalities and his backstory is incredibly difficult to tell. Noah Hawley, bless him, the very man who penned the episodes of bones and Fargo, took the guts and creative mind to take a challenging character from the x men universe who is incredibly important to them and to professor X, and decided to create a series based on that character. Notice how no one has created a Legiom series in the age of superhero boom?? Bc it's incredibly difficult because it requires a celebral audience to make the story it truly deserves. He took it and did it in aces!!!Bravo Naoh Hawley for this interpretation of Legion. The fighting scene between shadow king and David with the song as they sang, is my favorite scene in this series!!! This show is just incredible and is in the deep end of the pool. No shallow story telling. THERE IS STORY TELLING but its celebral and one where you gotta prepare to think. The many worlds theory episdoe that felt like it was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson was brilliant! Season 2 was a them all of the show is a whole! John hamms narration dropped mega bombs of informations for us to distort. Everything he said was of important value...how can no one love that??? I thanked the gods the last time for Dark and now this which also is a type of series I personally need to watch. This genre. I'm sick and tired in this age of TV, of watching shows that insult my intelligence and spoonfeed me the plot. This show doesnt hold your hand. It challenges me and is like munchies for my brain!! This type of show inspires me to write better!Season 2 was just like community season 2! Its was creative experimental risks being done in most episdoes. Season two imo DOES NOT drop in quality!!! I binged it and it was the same consistent material produced! As it continued I loved it more. There were two episodes I thought were average in season 2 that's it. The beginning incredible and the end incredible! Favorite quote of season 2: "How long have weve been here?" "I dont know, I guess we've been here...what are they called..what do you call them---" "Soap?" "No." PAUSE. "Not soap." He was trying to think of years and she meant time. I swear if you truly loved the first 5 episodes, stick with the first season. If you really loved the first, then you'll love the first to see the finale featuring the best battle scene since battle of the bastards imo.
magguilmot It started with someting fresh. Visually, it is good, Dan Stevens is interesting, so is the idea..to a point. The second season is cringe-worthy. Particularly annoying is the time spent to explain concepts (are we little children ? Slow ? Uneducated. Yes, ok, there might be kids watching and I'm oh so glad they hear of Plato's allegory of the cave... but come on, we're in 2018, 3mn of it -without quoting the source? And each episode can compete for the most boring intro/interlude/conclusion..you can't on the one hand ask for an open-minded audience season one and do that season two ). All in all,if you cry "genius" when the artist invites you to take a shit in a museum, you will recognize the idea. Which is old. With legion, you won't mind a bathroom break without a pause.
playwithme110 Think its a great show, could do a bit more to keep us from looking away from screen every so often as it gets repetitive and boring.
