kofila I just love this show. I have always loved cop shows and whodunnits but often struggled due to the stupidity of the writing. I could never get into stuff life Hawaii 5-0, NCIS, or the later installments of CSI because I always found the characters to be dumb as well as the writing and the forced action sequences... But this show is different. You don't have to memorize 12 faceless brainiacs in the lab but just two detectives. One is a classic one and the other is Vincent D'Onofrio who is the real deal and moving force behind the whole series. His performance often brought me thrills, then to tears or unexpected sudden bursts of joy. He is a true master of his art and one of the most unappreciated actors alive. So thank you, Vincent and Dick Wolf, for making cops intelligent again, paying homage to the classic detectives like Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot and paving the way for shows like Monk, Psych or the Mentalist.

This show follows NYPD Major Case Squad's Detective Robert Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and his partner Alexandra Eames (Kathryn Erbe). The biggest difference is to concentrate on these two detectives. In that way, it is much more reminiscent of police procedural in the past.Vincent D'Onofrio created an uniquely memorable character. Kathryn Erbe provides a great calming presence. Together they have a great watchable chemistry. It lasted 10 seasons.

ShelbyTMItchell Show only works with Detective Goren played by the great character actor Vincent D Onofrio and he made the show. The front and center, as his questioning of suspects and did not care what anybody thought of him attitude. Made the show work.Kathyrn Erbe as his much calmer partner Detective Eames. Who is the good cop to Bobby Goren's bad cop. As Goren was suppose to be like a Sherlock Holmes type character.The show is not as good as the original. But it is a little more better than SVU. It shows the point of view of the criminals rather than the cops and lawyers on the original, and the detectives and their sympathy on SVU.Still miss it but D Onofrio steals every single scene he is in. As did not mind Chris Noth's Mike Logan but nice to see him or the other characters and changing captains on the show.But D Onofrio and Erbe were the only reason the show worked! Without them, no offense to people like Noth, it would just be an normal crime of the week show!

pattie_bergman2002 I have read a lot on this site and I am in total agreement about Goren Y Emes. I am in shock that they totally gone now. I can not believe that such fantastic actors have been let go. I think Jeff Goldblum is a good actor.. But Goren and Emes are top of the world on this show. Why couldn't they continue to do as they did before? Every other week. You have lost me on The CI shows, except for reruns.These two actors have made this show what it is and should be brought back. Then also letting Ross go. All at once. It is difficult to even adjust to such a dramatic change. You will never ever be able to replace the actors and the real people now. I sure hope you bring them back. I feel as if you will lose a lot of viewers for the CI..Please don't mess with SVU...
