Am I the only one that's absolutely positively fascinated with this person? I mean, wow, she's brilliant yet simplistic in her thinking, She forces one to think realistically just by her targeted questions. She's a truth machine and can pull the truth out of you in a second. And one main thing I love about her is that she absolutely gives you 100% respect when you are truthful and honest with her. I am a fan forever, and I thank her for always being consistent. By watching her show, it has truly helped me to be a better person, smarter and sharper in my thinking and my relationship with others. (and people - when she 'attack' someone is because she knows they are lying.)

I began watching Judge Judy when I was young in the early 2000s and I remember really looking up to her as a judge and as a person. My mother was a legal secretary and was always fond of the way she handled cases back then. She was firm but fair and occasionally rose her voice, but it was nothing compared to the present. Now, she is cynical from the moment the litigants take the stand. She immediately catches an attitude before they even explain themselves. And when they do, she'll continually cut them off and won't let them get a word in edgewise. Sometimes she will ask a question, and the second the person opens their mouth to respond, she'll shout "JUST A SECOND!" and continue with her ceaseless babble. She seems to want to reach the verdict as quickly as she possibly can, often by rushing along the cases and having a rather biased opinion. Her attitude toward every single person that walks in with a case leaves very much to be desired. There's a difference between being a tough judge and being a bully.

Currently there is a series on TV called "Bad Judge". Don't confuse it with this show, which should be titled "Horrible Judge". Remember Judge Wapner? He was a reasonable man who seemed honestly interested in being fair and civil. Judge Judy, on the other hand, seems most interested in bullying people.I make no judgments about her as a person, because I do not know to what degree she is playing a part. But the part she is playing is despicable. Worst of all, people watch this show and think that law and justice operate as it does in her kangaroo courtroom. With her background in law, she should understand the disservice she does jurisprudence and civil discourse. This is the worst show on television, closely followed by "Cops". The fact that many people love this show speaks poorly for a part of society.

I remember when I was younger, and didn't understand anything about how a courtroom worked, and I thought that Judge Judy was the coolest judge ever. However looking at it in retrospect, and the occasional episode I see here and there, I've come to notice that there's no way she should still be a judge.A judge isn't supposed to have a bias, yet it seems that from the moment she sees the litigants, that she's already decided how she will rule.If you have a legal issue, and one of the parties involved happens to be male, I suggest you find literally anywhere else to have this issue settled, because gender seems to play a huge role in how likely she is to believe you. That being said, from time to time watching Judge Judy verbally beat down people who decide they'd rather party than parent, or rather buy a new car than pay back their loans is amusing if you're in the right mood.
