Mark M Time flies when it's a bad movie, guess what... it's still a bad movie! Tushka Bergen would be the worst actor I have ever seen, she is so wooded and very forgettable. I hate to even give this movie a single star but that is for Brian Brown who is an Aussie icon. I read on a site that Ms Bergen no longer is acting and this is a good thing - motherhood is for her!If you really want to see 'journey to the center of the earth' just watch the version done in 2008 with Academy Award-winning visual effects artist Eric Brevig. His feature directorial debut with this adaptation of the classic Jules Verne fantasy starring Brendan Fraser. The acting is more professional with better production values too!

abayes2-1 I remember James Mason battling through to the center of the Earth and have fond memories of this Jules Verne classic so I was a bit cautious when I watched this 1999 remake recently. However I need not have worried as Treat Williams and Bryan Brown combined to make this an enjoyable rollicking tale that stays very true to Mr Vernes original writings. Good scripts, more than passable cgi and sfx make for a really pleasant 3 hr journey both on the screen and off. Low points are few, as both the main characters and extras all seem to really enjoy their work and as a result the viewer does too! Props costumes and actors combine to deliver a thoroughly enjoyable remake of a classic! PS: I actually got hold of 39 pieces of storyboard art from this movie which are now on my wall so I was obviously a fan of this movie!

groovydemon i haven't read the book but i have to say that the movie is amazing! i just saw it few days back ...believe me i would never have rented a movie with such a name but i saw it on TV when i had nothing better to watch and i got mesmerized by it.The acting is indeed superb and though there have been computer animations but 90% look real...making a movie like this is indeed a difficult task hence all hats off to the director who deserves a great big round of applause. so people watch this even if you're not thrilled to see the cover its not about dinosaurs and monsters its actually a tale of a brave women going in search of her long lost husband and the difficulties she faced with them in her journey and the discoveries they make!

skyhowler Very nice tv movie,I'm impressed by the special effects and sound, also the backgrounds are magnificent.This is an movie you should see without breaks. I think the acting is from a high standard and tells the story how it should be told, only the end is not satisfying, it asks for a sequel.
