Reviews

OllieSuave-007 This is the animated version of the family sitcom that I happened to catch on TV when I was a kid, remembered it being a heartfelt series about the continuing story of girl Punky Brewster and her adopted dad, Henry Warnimont.I loved the chemistry and family relationship between Punky and Henry - very heartwarming and touching to watch. It definitely represents the true meaning of family and innocence, all the while bringing in some comic relief as well.Good animation and some pretty fun episodes overall. Not quite up to par to the original live version, but still not a bad show for children.Grade B-
Catherine_Grace_Zeh I used to watch this show when I was a little girl. I only remember it vaguely, though. If you ask me, it was a good show. I remember the opening sequence and theme song vaguely, too. In addition to that, everyone was ideally cast. Also, the writing was very strong. The performances were top-grade, too. I hope some network brings it back so I can see every episode. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I don't think I've seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.
Victor Field Like "Tales from the Crypt" and "Jumanji," "It's Punky Brewster" was a case of an animated spinoff being preferable to the original live-action source. This version had a different theme song and a new character (a little creature called Glomer) added to the mix - imagine a cartoon version of "The Parkers" trying that - who took Punky, Allen, Cherie and the rest to all manner of adventures, with a result that was less icky than the liveaction show. Plus it gave George Gaynes more dignity than the "Police Academy" movies, I bet.But one question - why wasn't Cherie's mother in this?
ztonus Better yet, which was better? Which lasted longer?I actually remember watching the cartoon first. I never saw the actual TV show until it repeated on the Family Channel. Believe it or not, folks, I liked the cartoon better. Maybe it's because I'm getting old.Still, the cartoon works well enough, and hopefully, all the characters from the show did their own voices. This opens up with Punky finding the end of the rainbow. There, she finds a little village with little creatures, but one named "Glomer" gets left behind when the rainbow disappears. It's kinda like E.T., only with a cuter girl(and look at her now. Damn!)This was a pretty ok show. One of my favorite episodes is where Punky has gone to the National Spelling Bee Finals. To help her out, Glomer creates a "bee" that actually helps you spell.
