This show should be shown around in directing and acting schools as a bad example. It is utterly stupid. The characters are dull and flat, they are completely inhuman, like they are ripped out from a bad soap opera. The story is compelling as long as you can withdraw the stupidity, but after a certain point it is simply dumb. There are major goofs, just to name few: Russel's arm came in contact with the poisonous goo, but it didn't affect him; everybody else died from it... The horrendous and artificial backgrounds. Why the hell do you need artificial background when you're in damn Florida? Did Eddie Cibrian and the girl who plays Kira spend all the budget on coke? Did they do pot with the director, that's why this whole show is so damn stoned? My favorite line from the show (just to exemplify its stupidity): -Oh, dad, you're here! -Yeah, and so are you! It was said during to climax of the whole season, in a very intense moment. It wasn't only bad, it was straight out of a comic show, as if this whole show was supposed to be a comedy. I really tried to give it a shot, but it's rubbish.

A script that sees the Sheriffs Deputy cutting off his own arm after the Sheriff tells him to after the Deputy returns from the sea with an arm that had been previously missing after being duplicated by a sea going alien. If that isn't enough to cause most viewers to turn it off I don't know what is. The subsequent cascade of justifications coming from the Sheriff was obviously designed to make the whole thing believable in the context of the story line it only sound like bad scriptwriters trying to salvage trashing their own script by way of being totally stupid for whatever reason. It had real potential up to that point which is about half way through its one season run (no surprise there). Like a hamburger served with salami on it this fails to satisfy in ways that personally I've never seen before. The subtle buildup with the alien theme dead ends at this point in the project leaving viewers looking for their TV guide and an episode of Jeopardy to watch. Ho hum.

Aliens invading Earth is nothing new of a premise, and this show seemed to pick up where the original V miniseries left off. Despite the almost cliché plot for the show, I found this story line absolutely riveting. After the first episode, I was hooked. For the most part, the acting looked fairly strong with great performances from William Fichtner, Tyler Labine, and Eddie Cibrian. As a first season of a show usually goes, there is great build up to the finale. However, since the show was canceled after the first season, I was expecting a cliffhanger of an ending, but this was not the case for me personally. The ending seemed to wrap up fairly well and left me wanting more without being too upset that I won't have enough resolution. Anyone looking for a good sci-fi like drama, this is a good series to burn through during a lazy weekend.

i mostly enjoyed this sci/fi entry.the take on the alien(if that's what they are)invasion concept is done differently here than in other movies/TV shows of the genre.the concept is clever, the script is well written, and the suspense builds at just the right pace.right from the get go,curious things happen in the town, with more than one explanation offered.as more and more people begin to suspect something is wrong, things really heat up(the only minor quibble i have is that there did tend to be some repetitiveness at times).hard to believe this gem was created by Shaun Cassidy, former 70's teen heartthrob.but Cassidy has come up with an original, inventive show that i wish had found an audience, and lasted more than one season.the way the series ended was quite the cliffhanger, and so there is no resolution.you will have to use your imagination.anyway,i enjoyed the show, and would recommend it to others.for me,Invasion is an 8/10
