I'm really embarrassed about telling people what stuff I like from the 80s. This is my "guilty pleasure".I was never quite a fan of slapstick comedy, but here it just works. The characters are amazing. You have your hero who can't do anything because he's dumb, the super-smart girl that is too young to be as smart as she is, the partner-in-crime, and the villain who sits around petting his cat.I love video games, so I want a video game adaptation of some kind. A GOOD ONE. Inspector Gadget: Advance Mission was the best.If you're a parent of a 6 or 7 year old, I highly recommend you introduce this show to them. Now I'm gonna watch it myself despite being older than 7. Teens can like it too!

Inspector Gadget rocks! I wish that they still showed it on TV. I can remember staying up late on Saturday nights with my dad when I was growing up and watching the three stooges and then inspector gadget. I'm going to have to watch out for the seasons on DVD so I can retain those memories. The effects aren't the best when compared to todays standards, but it gives that early eighties feel that makes you think of growing up. I just wish that the show wouldn't of ended and they would have made more episodes. If anybody reading this has any pull on what cartoons are shown on the "old cartoon" channels, see if it would be possible to put it back on air. I'm sure that if a poll was taken, it would show that I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Inspector Gadget remains one of my favorite cartoon series. I've probably seen the 64 episodes of the original season dozens of times. It never gets tiresome to see Gadget's *ahem* gadgets fail on him or getting friendly with the M.A.D. Agents who are trying to off him.I sometimes feel he was made to be dense so he wouldn't know Penny (his super-genius niece) and Brain (Gadget and Penny's disguise-wearing beagle) actually do all the heavy lifting. The voice work of Don Adams (as Gadget), Cree Summer (as Penny) and Frank Welker (as Dr. Claw) is top-notch. The cartoon isn't dated at all in fact, despite being from the 1980's. I'll still watch an episode here or there on Teletoon Retro. It's great children's T.V., too.My favorite episode is Quizz Master, the final episode of the original 64 series run. Dr. Claw brainwashes people on a Let's Make A Deal-type gameshow into robbing armored cars. It's laugh-out-loud funny to see Inspector Gadget's attempts to win a toaster.

This show was before my childhood but my brother used to love it, I think it was his favourite show of all time. But it is on every morning very early on Canada's children's network so I have seen it a lot lately and I think it's a great show for kids. If you ask me, it is a good show after all these years but also educational for children, not just entertaining. The theme song really sticks in your head but not in an annoying way (at least not yet for me).The voices were all great. Whoever did Inspector Gadget must have been a known actor because it is a familiar voice and was perfect for the part. Dr. Claw's voice was awesome, I love how you never see him and only get to see his metal hand. Every episode he sends agents to get Inspector Gadget, who is a bumbling stumbling guy who always ends up in various accidents but somehow accidentally gets the bad guy in the end (always with the help of Penny and his dog Brain who seem to be the only ones who realize how bumbling he is). The show always ended up with Dr. Claw seeing he's defeated and shouting "next time, Gadget, next time!" For each episode these missions seem to almost always be in a different place, so that kids watching learn about other parts of the world.I hope it stays on the network so I can see every episode and that it is on when I have kids someday (fingers crossed).
