When I first saw this saw back in the middle of my 6th grade year I didn't know what to expect. A story-driven comedy adventure airing on Nick? Surprisingly though it works really well. While there are some "childish" moments there is indeed a very interesting plot through each of the 3 seasons (I haven't finished the third season so I can't really say.. I stopped following after my 7th grade year with Season 2) Of the approximate 60 episodes per season each totaling at about 11 minutes per episode there is just enough to push each plot and to leave the viewer coming back the next day with even more questions. Upon re-watching it, a few things I must mention to an older, 17+ audience: The characters, while starting a bit obnoxious, really come into their own as the series continues and the drama rises. The acting is... meh. Some are decent actors but a lot of them wear the British twang a bit too much (Patricia specifically) which leads to some borderline "Whine" like performances and line delivery. The comedy is usually childish with some annoying noises and characters acting silly... but as the series goes on and you learn more about the characters the jokes go from slapstick "meh" fest to really funny character jabs. (One of my favorites is when the make fun of Victor in season 2) The show really becomes second nature and I have many fond memories of Season 2's middle being EXCELLENT. The plot in the first two seasons are convoluted to a point where it becomes a Joy (pun not intended) to watch unfold and how many ties the different strings of the mysteries really have. Overall, give this show a shot.. like what you see? (The sometimes corny-British heavy mystery serialized show) Then defiantly check out Season 2.

Here we meet again, House of Anubis, a show I found addicting and truly entertaining. But, here's my honest review on it. Like every single show, Anubis isn't perfect. Some mistakes and not the best character developments, but, after all, I found some magic meanwhile watching this hit series. When I first saw the trailer on my TV, I already thought this is going to be something exciting. Something different from any other Nickelodeon show. And I was right. House of Anubis was unlikely anything I have ever seen on television. Not only mystery filled plot, but also a show including every single genre but horror. I'm talking about comedy, drama, mystery, romance, thriller, action, all of the things a good show needs were combined together, creating one amazing TV series. While watching every single episode of this show, I discovered something special upon everything, something that made me kept watching. Maybe the imperfections in this show were what made me so interested, I don't even know. Maybe how good the plot was in season 1 or the mystery about Joy disappearing. Everything combined together kept me on the edge of my seat every single episode. Even though there were many things I didn't like in this series, I find it weird not to call it perfect. Why is it perfect? Because it's a show that feels like real life. The mystery is truly unrealistic, but the way the show introduces it makes it more realistic than, say, my own life. Also, what I love about this show is that it fits all of the ages. Everyone, teens, adults, kids, even babies are allowed to watch this and be entertained, of course, depending on your television taste. Once you watch the first 10-20 episodes of the show, I bet you will be surprised and will continue watching HOA. All of the actors & actresses are gifted and their acting is amazing. One of the biggest minus about it is that this show is too much underrated.

This show is still in syndication and that's a travesty because there is no acting worse than what I've seen watching this awful show. I mean, seriously, could the dialogue get any cheesier? The concept is lame, the chemistry between actors is meh, at best. But why would anyone give this show a 10? It's awful, I mean, I have seen nothing worse than this pretentious piece of crap, the names just reinforce the "British snob" stereotype, I mean "Jerome", really? One's an over-the-top-goth, one's an over-the-top bimbo, another's a Spanish actress trying, and failing in doing so, to convince a preteen audience already lacking in real TV experience that she is what Americans sound like. This show is horrendous.

I gave the show a 10/10 when I voted up at the top, but on this, I give it a slightly biased, judgmental score, which is a 6.75, rounded up to a 7.Despite the poor acting and cheesy dialogue, this show is quite entertaining. Great for kids and preteens, it's a remake of the Belgian/Dutch show, Het Huis Anubis, about a group of teenagers at a boarding school who are trying to figure out the teachers' deep, dark secret and the house's past. It keeps you guessing and is pretty good with the suspense, plus if you're a sucker for romance, they throw a bit of that in there as well. The main characters, which are the inhibitors of the House of Anubis are Nina, Fabian, Amber, Patricia, Alfie, Jerome, Mara, and Mick. The only ones really working on this secret/know anything about it so far in the series, is Nina, Fabian, Amber, and Patricia.Nina is the new student from America. Fabian is the cute, sweet boy, who befriends Nina. Amber is the dumb-blonde, who says things that make you cringe. Patricia is the stubborn, rebellious girl. Alfie and Jerome, in my opinion, are really annoying characters who are supposed to be the "jokers" who can sometimes be sweet. Mara is the sweet, shy girl who greatly resembles Vanessa Hudgens, and Mick is her crush who's a jock. Then there's Joy who we don't actually see until about 15 episodes in. She's the Patricia's best friend who goes "missing," yet she's somehow involved with the teachers' secret. And no, if this show was turned into a movie, it would definitely not win "all the Oscars." It might win a Kid's Choice Award (maybe) and possibly a Razzie. It's got a good storyline, and good mystery plot, but it's a kid's show with inexperienced actors and poor effects. I recommend the show for children/preteens, and anyone older who are going to view it as a kid's show, not an adult show, thus not judge it harshly.
