Synopsis

Hillside (known as Fifteen in the United States) is a Canadian-American teen drama that aired on YTV in Canada from 1991 to 1993. Created and produced by John T. Binkley, the series was Nickelodeon's only teenage soap opera. The show was shot on videotape, similar to most daytime dramas. The series was first conceived as Fifteen in an improvised form for The Disney Channel, where a 13-episode pilot series was produced and tested in the U.S. After Disney decided not to proceed with the project, Nickelodeon and Canadian partners joined Binkley in producing the series which was known in its first and second seasons as Hillside in Canada, and throughout the 65-episode run as Fifteen in the U.S. The show was subsequently syndicated around the world, with runs in Germany and Israel, among others. The series features a large ensemble cast which underwent several changes over the show's four-season run. Notable cast members include Laura Harris, Enuka Okuma, and Ryan Reynolds.

awesomemente This was one series I really liked. It seems like Nickelodeon made a curve to the outside corner by landing "Fifteen" But the fact that it made it to 65 episodes was a good thing. But even with the series more than 15 years old it seems like it could be run another network and a new "Fifteen" could return to television. Ashley was one of my favorites. The various outfits she wore on "Fifteen" The music worked in between scenes. I liked how the series was filmed in three different locations. Orlando was a decent location to film the later seasons and you can tell that. I was in the studio audience for "Figure it out" before but I would of loved to see the making of a "Fifteen" episode. When I think of Nickelodeon in the 1990's this is one series that scored well in my book. We need more things like this on TV. Nickelodeon doesn't let their TV series deal with issues this was one that dealt with them.
hank frealy I have to agree with most everyone's opinion that this show was poorly produced as well as written. The acting was not much more above the lower production values however I feel an actor can only rely on the material provided to them and make the best of it. In keeping with this thought I feel it is important to point out that one actor has risen and persevered well beyond this campy to tasteless production to have become a respectable and quite talented performer.I am referring to Laura Harris a Canadian born actor who has etched her way through many poorly produced shows and movies to find a place on the HBO hit "Dead Like Me" where she plays the role of Daisy Adair and to her credit she handles this role in an efficient manner.I remember having a typical boyhood crush on the young actress during this series where she played Ashley a soft spoken yet intelligent 7th grader.I felt as though if anyone might "make it" from this series it surely would be Laura Harris and true to her nature she did excel in the acting field to win the respect of many producers who now recognize her for her talent as well as unique Nordic blond allure. If you ever do have the opportunity to view this series I recommend that you have something epic to watch after wards such as the 'Godfather' or perhaps 'Beaches' in order to remind yourself that there is after all a great deal of true production integrity and value out there and that this series is only a low-budget reminder of what Laura Harris can simply state about her time on the show and I bet she would quote many a young actors words of defense by saying "It's a start!"
aktung this is easily one of the finest shows ever to hit the satelites of the world. I love the deep plots and the great sets. The acting was at great and Brook was hot hot hot!!!!! And she was the best character on the show except for the guy that got drunk all the time he was pretty cool too. Nick needs to bring this show back!!!!!!!
patricklew911 Fifteen was one of the coolest shows I watched when I was a little kid . And the plots were just like a teen show you would see on MTV . I totally remember the show , but not the episodes . I wish Nickelodeon would bring this show back with re-runs . Now Nickelodeon has c**p such as Catdog and Spongebob . They're not great as they used to anymore . Please bring back Fifteen , Roundhouse , Welcome Freshmen , and all those shows from the early 90s please !
