EP1 Volume 1 Mar 01, 2014

Hillbilly Horror Show: Volume 1 kicks off strong with Franky and the Ant ("Best of Fest" - 2013 LA Indie Film Fest), followed by the outstanding animated horror short, Doppelganger. Next, we bring on a fun little homage to the zombie genre with Amused. Finally, we close out with a BUZZ and introduce you to The Nest ("Best Foreign Short" - 2011 Atlanta Shortsfest). In between the films hilarity ensues as our hillbilly family comments on the films, drink beer, and whip up a tasty batch of skunk stew! Not to mention, there are LOTS of great views of Lulu to take in!

EP2 Volume 2 May 01, 2014

Hillbilly Horror Show: Volume 2 keeps the series rolling full speed ahead! It jumps off with the darkly hilarious short, "Help Wanted", which is guaranteed to make you rethink searching for a new job. Next up, we explore the war between vampires and angels in the slick action-horror flick, "Bloodtraffick" (Winner - Best Actress, Grace Huang - HollyShorts Film Festival). For the third short, we find a ghostly, modern day western called, "The Deed". Look close, because that cowboy looks awful familiar. Finally, Volume 2 caps off with the chilling horror-fantasy "Rose White". Trust us when we tell you that this fairytale doesn't have a happy ending! Once again, our favorite hillbillies are along for the ride, providing plenty of laughs in between.

EP3 Volume 3 Aug 01, 2014

Hillbilly Horror Show Volume 3 brings us the strongest episode of the series to date! Leading the show off is "Get Off My Porch", from the multi award-winning writer/director, Patrick Rea. If that wasn't impressive enough, the hillbillies up the ante with "Divination", starring horror icon, Lynn Lowery! Then, we take a trip into the Lamplight Woods with "Follow". Do NOT go into the light! Lastly, we round out this amazing installment with the story of a young ghoul, coming of age in "Moderngrumble". Bo & Cephus are both on their game throughout, drinking down cold ones and offering laugh out loud zingers, while Lulu is sassier than ever in her next to nothing outfits! This episode is absolutely a MUST SEE!

EP4 Volume 4 Nov 01, 2014

Your favorite hillbillies are back at it again, with another fantastic volume full of outstanding horror shorts! Bo & Cephus bring you even more laughs, in the first feature length volume of Hillbilly Horror Show...and that also means a LOT more Lulu too! Volume 4 begins in a strange way with STRANGE THING...keep those doors closed! Next, Bo & Cephus take a hilarious, horror-filled romp into the not-so-blissful side of marriage with 'TIL DEATH. After that, we've got a deliciously horrific feast with FOODIE, and round things out hanging the curves in THE HOURGLASS FIGURE. Be sure to stick around to the end for a surprise bonus short, COLLISION!

Mark Thornton Comedy and horror...beer-drinking and blood-baths...what more could you ask for? This set of short films is punctuated by host segments featuring a couple of good old boys and their smoking hot assistant Lulu. The format reminds me of the old MonsterVision on TNT or Mystery Science Theater 3000 (except with better films!). If you enjoy flipping through the channels late at night to discover new film you've never seen before, you will enjoy this. We're coming up on Halloween, and this is a perfect fit for a laid-back evening of quality short films. Watched on Amazon, and it looks like part of a series, so if the filmmakers release any more of these, I will definitely continue watching.
hero-11 I really enjoyed this film. I totally loved the shorts! I had lots of laughs with the hosts. A very cool throw back to the late night horror shows. I was very impressed with the quality of horror shorts presented. The hosts move it right along and are completely entertaining. I really admire these filmmakers. Not only did they create a very good standalone indie film, they also support horror films that might other wise not have wide circulation. Kudos - for finding a lovely way to pursue your film-making and pushing the work of others out into the world as well. I will certainly be tuning into Volumes 1 - 3!! Nothing like alcohol and horror!!!
artistgp An anthology of horror shorts is a great idea! As a filmmaker myself I have long considered the idea of connecting various short films in some type of collection. I'd think on it for a while then just let the idea fade away. The idea of having hosts really brings it together. If you're new to the short film viewing game give it a shot. You'll get to dive into one world for a while then before you know it it's reached its resolution and you're off to the next story. Good times! This is the first volume I'd heard of, but I'd definitely be interested in checking out the others as well. Go make some popcorn and treat yourself to some horror shenanigans. I can't wait to watch future installments! Dive in and have some fun. :)
pattysmiley1 I have to say firstly, I wasn't sure what to expect from this show. The DVD box looks like a mad version of a Scooby Doo poster. The DVD box itself is quite the treat if you're into wacky DVD art. Anyway, I watched the DVD of Volume 1 and I was honestly blown away. The hosts are are throwback to Joe Bob Briggs, but much better and the wrap around with the hosts actually has a story-line, which I found refreshing. Love the films, which are all award winning horror shorts. Amazing the quality of films. A few even look like they were made by studios. I highly recommend this title and so far I've seen 4 of the episodes and they each get better and better. I'm looking forward to seeing what else this crew puts out.
