EP1 Waterloo Jun 15, 2024

To kick off Series 9, the team explore disused parts of Waterloo station, complete with lift shafts, floodgates and evacuation routes.

EP2 Riding the 38 Stock Jun 29, 2024

In the second episode of series 9, the team head to Acton Town to hop onboard our 38 Stock train. They join a test run ahead of the Heritage Train Journeys that we will be running this summer.

EP3 Liverpool Street Jul 13, 2024

In this episode the team explore a station of two halves – Liverpool Street. Hidden platforms, a disused signal cabin and original passageways of the Central London Railway all make for a fascinating exploration. In a first of the Hangouts this episode was performed live and recorded in the Cubic Theatre at London Transport Museum, with an audience of our Patreons on Friday 11 August 2023.

EP4 Making the Museum roundel Jul 20, 2024

In this episode, the team travel to A J Wells on the Isle of Wight to reveal the process of designing and creating London Transport Museum’s new animated spectrum roundel. This enormous sign forms the centre piece of the recent rebrand for the Museum. With special guests Sau-Fun Mo, Head of Design, London Transport Museum and Jake Hunter, Project Manager, A J Wells.

In this episode the team return to Holborn station ahead of the start of our new Hidden London disused station tours. Chris, Laura, Alex and Siddy explore the most hidden parts of the station, revealing original tiles, machine rooms and a huge ventilation system.

EP7 Green Park's Secret Station Oct 05, 2024

Join the team for episode seven as they explore Green Park's secret station. In this episode the team head to Mayfair to find a long hidden station that once stood opposite the famous Ritz Hotel and was transformed into a luxurious bunker for London Transport executives during the Second World War.

EP8 Metroland The end of the line Nov 11, 2024

The Metropolitan Railway once reached deep into Buckinghamshire with rural stations serving remote villages and hamlets with train services to the heart of London. In this episode Chris, Laura and Alex follow the Hidden London book on a road trip in search of surviving stations and infrastructure, finally locating the fabled source of Metropolitan Elixir – sloe bushes.

Synopsis

Each week, join Chris Nix, Siddy Holloway and Laura Hilton-Brown from the Museum’s Hidden London team and host Alex Grundon as they explore the secret and mysterious spaces of London’s transport system. In series 1, the team focus on the different sites in the Hidden London tour programme, sharing historical titbits that are revealed on the tours as well as the behind the scenes processes they go through to make the tours such as success. In series 2 and 3, the team turn their hands to a huge number of various transport topics such as moquette, tiling, Johnston type face, posters and much, much more!
