Synopsis

In Discovery Channel's top-rated show `Gold Rush', gold miners, inexperienced as some may be, hope to strike it rich in the wilds of Alaska and beyond. Some dismal summers result, filled with injuries, malfunctioning equipment and constant fighting among the greenhorn miners, yet serious cases of gold fever always trump any talk of giving up and sometimes leads to dreams being salvaged. The companion series `The Dirt' presents the inside scoop on behind-the-scenes relationships between such miners as brash youngster Parker Schnabel and longtime Yukon resident Tony Beets, as the quest to hit the mother lode never stops.

Reviews

brendabolen So if the situation will allow you could run some water there and eliminate the need to shovel. Allowing you don't chance washing out your supports. Possibly running the water with a spray bar. Washing it out from the sides is also a possibility. Watching the shows a blast but can't understand the need for discontent among the shows. Why would you not want cooperation among your people ,sharing knowledge and experience . Many people work a lifetime for knowledge, some pay for it ,others steal it,and in the end you can't give it away .So promote shared knowledge its a good thing.Tony won't agree lol Totally love each episode as we tape so I catch each one in order and can't miss one or I miss a repair.Laughingly waiting for the next break or temper tantrum and learning all the way.
garyrobertson-67359 Hopefully this review is in time prevent the Music Composer (Didier Rachou) from jumping off a bridge. I am not one of the "hundreds of thousands" of viewers who apparently think that you are ruining the show. The background score perfectly compliments the plot and is timed properly so as not to become the prime focus. I think your work on Gold Rush, Deadliest Catch, Dual Survival, Yukon Men, Bering Sea Gold, Edge of Alaska, Chrome Underground, Long Island Medium, and dozens of other shows should speak for itself. I look forward to seeing the show each week and know that eventually it will end. That is a day I am not looking forward to. Keep up the great work!
popopo434 Would someone please try talking to the producers of this show Gold Rush and try reasoning with them on how it's better to stop using the music in the background as an extreme attempt to shape the mood of the viewers during certain scenes. The orchestra music in the background is extremely annoying and distracting because it is too much over sensationalized and it also ends up giving us an indication of what will happen in the next scene. For instance: on January 10, 2015 I watched an episode showing Dave Hoffman testing the white sands of an extremely deep pit they dug trying to find an average of 10 ounces per cubic ton. When they first started dredging the upper soil they only found about four dollars per metric ton. So, after Dave Hoffman dug the trench deeper he tested the soil with a gold pan. As he was removing the water and dirt and just showing of very little bit of the dirt at the bottom of the pan, which would give an indication how much gold he found, the orchestra music in the background led me to believe that he didn't find much and then they would not allow the camera to show us what he found in the pan at that moment. Then, Dave Hoffman calls Todd on the radio telling Todd he needs to look at this, what he found in the pan. We the viewers still have no idea if he found gold or didn't and were anticipating good news or bad news. Then, when Dave Hoffman approaches Todd and began showing him the pan before Todd could see was in the pan the orchestra music in the background starts to sound rather dramatic and exciting with a positive tone of music. Then, we viewers are ready new that there was gold in the pan before Todd could even look in the pan and before the camera could show us any gold in the pan. I don't like it and wish they would stop and I know there's hundreds of thousands of other people that agree with me that had been given a chance to complain at this website, yet.The producers are producing this show as though we viewers are a bunch of mindless retards who can't analyze or think for ourselves so they have to put all those goofy sounding orchestra music in the background trying to influence us on how we feel about what we're looking at. They started doing this about a year or two ago and now they're doing it even more which is absolutely ruined the viewing experience for me and thousands of other people, I'm sure. Today, while watching the first 45 minutes of the show I changed the channel and I swore never to go and watch any of those damn Gold Rush shows the producers have wrongly ruined for me and probably a quite noticeable amount of other viewers whom, like myself, feel the same way and are sick and tired of being treated like a little mindless child while were trying to enjoy the action as it naturally unfolds while it's presented to us from the camera's view.
