The concept is basic, two guys go round to there parents for friday night dinner. The problem with show, is that it's to repetative. The characters in this are just pure irritating, Always saying or doing things that make little to no sense. If you like a show that has the same storyline every week then its for you.

Only just caught up with this , I watched it when it was first on TV 2011 and just did not give it a chance . then gave it another go on NF with my son watching and we were both howling in laughter after a few minutes and ended up watching the four series in about a week .
then to our joy a new series starting in a couple of weeks , how happy was we.Simon Bird is always funny and the character Jim is classic . They do not make them like this no more . Lets hope it continues .

Friday Night Dinner is an excellent sitcom starring Tasmin Greig, Simon Bird, Paul Ritter and Tom Rosenthal. Paul Ritter who plays Dad is particularly funny and provides the most gags in each episode. One of my favourite shows on TV! I've never laughed so much watching some of these episodes. All 3 series are funny, crude and extremely well written. I prefer Simon Bird in this role as Adam than I do as Will in The Inbetweeners and I love The Inbetweeners so that's saying something. Nothing but praise for Friday Night Dinner. Jim the neighbour is also brilliant, the idea of him being frightened of his own dog makes me laugh and Jim is just hilarious and awkward.Outstanding series, I would recommend it highly! It's a shame we only have 3 series, I really want more of Friday Night Dinner.

I watched this by accident while eating something. I was surprised to find out how funny it was. The acting seems weird, such as maybe on of the family will say something followed by two or three others repeating the phrase...The mother is not very funny, nor was she in Black Books but there is good Inbetweener style banter between the two brothers and the dad and neighbour are really funny...Not as good as the Inbetweeners but about better than everything American.........................
