Floyd takes a train ride through rolling landscapes, goes fishing at Lake Trasimeno and cooks up beef and mushrooms. Plus, he gets behind the wheel of a Ferrari.

EP2 Tuscany Aug 09, 1994

Floyd cooks a pigeon dish in a busy square, visits Sienna where he cooks a winter dish, and gets to stay in a castle converted to a hotel.

EP3 Sicily Aug 16, 1994

Floyd starts off on the west coast in Marsala, he visits and cooks a pizza from the salt fields south of Trapini, before heading to the island of Maretemo for a festival.

EP4 Puglia Aug 23, 1994

Floyd visits the pre-dawn fish auction in Molfetta and checks out the Romanesque cathedrals and Swabian castles built by Frederick II, the Norman conqueror.

EP5 Liguria and Piedmont Aug 30, 1994

Floyd takes a journey through Cinque Terre, where fishing villages nestle in the seaside cliffs on the Ligurian coast. He also goes to a chocolate factory.

EP6 Calabria Sep 06, 1994

Floyd joins the cheesemaker Gino, whilst he does the rounds of a handful of smallholdings in Marano, and then cooks up marinated wild boar.

EP7 Emilia Romagna & Venice Sep 13, 1994

Floyd visits Bologna, the capital of Emilia, which is full of beautiful buildings, medieval towers and churches. Then it's onto the home of Parmesan cheese.

Synopsis

Floyd’s mission is to discover the varied tastes and the rich regional diversity of Italian cuisine. The eccentric chef abandons all accepted conventions as he forays into the best restaurants and the most luscious vineyards. Amidst the classic scenery Floyd prepares exquisite dishes including squid ink tagliatelle and Tuscan wild boar.
