I very like this show! It is somehow different, more intelligent that others shows, interesting, so intense, captivating, so well made and with brilliant cast (everyone!)! It is so unusual that in series with so many characters (from first, second and even third plan) all actors are chosen wisely and genuinely and everyone has their personality - from the main characters, to supporting roles to even serving the kitchen. I couldn't believe there will be no continuation! I can not remember a series in which as many plots and characters are equivalent, interesting, worth developing and giving so much more possibilities to this series. I hope this show will return! Lots of interesting plots to expand!

I cannot believe this series was canceled after one season.I found it captured my interested from the very first moment. It was unique.Upon reading the description of the show I initially thought...oh no, a high-end restaurant, mob ties, a single parent, alcoholism and David Schwimmer in a serious role...this is not going anywhere. I watched 1 episode and it just grabbed me. Everything was presented in a manner far from the way I thought it would be. It did not compare to anything else I had viewed previously and that means a lot when looking for something unique. I had not seen David Schwimmer in a serious role and he did well as did all the other actors.Surely this series did not have enough exposure...that is the only reason I can think of for AMC stating 'the show simply didn't achieve the results needed to move forward with a second season'.I am extremely disappointed and will miss the series even if it lived for only 1 season.

Dion running around all the time in a crazed state of drugged out over-hyped stimulation. The ridiculous "Toothfairy" character running around breaking fingers and pulling out teeth in the very first episode in a display of mafia power is completely ridiculous. I mean he's breaking the fingers of the one guy who owes him $600,000 who uses said hands as his only means to pay him back, Dion. Now then, Dion the chef. Always in a state of manic over stimulation. The nutty mafia boss, who looks like an infant Pillsbury Doughboy, is completely unbelievable as a character. And four weeks to transform a wreck of a space into a nearly unpronounceably named high-end restaurant, Thirio, Greek for beast. It must have taken the actors weeks of practice to properly trill the "r" which sounds dopey every time someone says it. And whole mafia boss nonsense just doesn't work. Doughboy keeps menacing Dion in his mafia van demanding a wildly insane amount of vig every month from a guy who has no visible means of income. The only bright spot for me is David Schwimmer. Totally believable as a master sommelier. But his forever mute son very quickly wears thin and becomes a major annoyance. This is an example of a new show tying way too hard out of the gate. It's showing all its cards right away, some of which are preposterous. I don't care at all about any of the characters because there is no development of any of them. There is another new show, Queen of the South, that is good right out of the gate. Good character development and you care about them right away. FTB should take a look at that show for help. I guess it's all about the writing.

I guess I kept watching, believing that it might get better....but no, each week another 60 minutes go by that I will never get back. A mute kid that's not spoken since his mum died, a racist gran-dad hard-nut who owns half the restaurant to be, the best thing about this is Luther from The Warriors, and the psycho "dentist". You get a couple of blokes dribbling over fantastic meals they want to make, and a couple of expensive wines. One slightly strung out chef owes some bad boys $600k, and a wine guy. unfortunately, David Schwimmer can only play Ross, he does it here, and he done it in Band of Brothers. its a really sad excuse for a show!
