pwme This was truly entertaining and humorous. There was only one episode I wouldn't watch due to content, but all in all, hilarious and I was disappointed when it wasn't renewed. With so many shows main characters getting mega-bucks per episode, by Hollywood standards, surely this wasn't too expensive, just under-promoted. It was original, tongue-in-cheek, subtle at times, and very compassionate and yet ironic at the same time. How many shows can do that?I wish NBC would renew it. Too many truly innovative and entertaining shows are not allowed to find their feet let alone their audience before someone with more power than wit cancels it. I want my FATHER OF THE PRIDE back!
Scrugulus I don't know why some people criticise that show so much.It is a great, funny show - probably not the right material for mainstream prime-time, but still...The family dynamics are funny, and all in all the same you see in most comedy shows. The supporting characters are absolutely hilarious. The plots of the individual episodes and the frequent Siegfried & Roy jibes are only just above average, but ever so often you have sub-plots or one-liners that make you roll on the floor laughing. This show was well worth the 8 Pounds I paid for it.rating: 8/10
mwc993 This show was the best. Although it has been canceled due to low ratings and Roy's very unfortunate accident, the show is out now everywhere on DVD. It contains all the episodes and never before seen episodes. About the show itself, I have to say I love it. It has all types of humor and every character I find hilarious. My favorite must be Larry and Hunter. Those two really crack me up. The whole cast is wonderful and I personally saw this show making it as a "green Light" show. I think it was mainly based on the fact that for being NBC's near most expensive show to run, they didn't put any money or time into it's advertising. If they did that the show might still be on. Anyways, buy the DVD and trust me on it, it is worth it. So with that, I bid you all a good day. Father of the Pride ROCKS!
missjcraig I don't know what "TheMightyN" is talking about... but Father of the Pride is probably the funniest show on TV this season. It's hilariously written by writers from Conan O'Brien -- the humor is very adult-like, and my friends and Iabsolutely love it. The humor is sarcastic and comic timing is amazing.Whoever does the voices for Sigfried and Roy -- they are literally so funny with their lines and delivery that I almost fell off the bed laughing during the episode with Sierra and the Catnip. I'll admit, John Goodman really isn't the star of this show -- it's definitely Carl Reiner and Sigfried and Roy. Their metrosexualbehavior is just over the top funny.Hopefully, it won't get cancelled. I haven't seen it in a couple weeks due to election coverage, etc. but I hope more episodes are on the way!!
