Synopsis

The Stevens are a middle-class family living in Sacramento, CA. Husband and father Steve is a successful attorney. Wife and mother Eileen is a state Senator. Their oldest child Donnie ia a high-school sports legend. Ren, an 8th-grader, is just about the perfect daughter. She makes the best grades, she's popular, she does volunteer work and other extracurricular tasks by the score. Her brother Louis, in the 7th grade, is her opposite. He likes to sleep late, he's messy, his grades are not good, he's frequently in detention and he seems to take nothing seriously. But he is serious about finding something of his own that he can do to put himself on a par with the rest of his overachieving family. Though he and Ren occasionally soften their attitudes toward each other, at any given moment the're likely to be fighting like mongoose and cobra.

scissorhands__emily I think this is one of the best Disney Channel shows ever aired. Every episode is funny and all the characters are different. There are plenty of characters you could relate to, and even characters you may know in real life (like Beans, the younger kid who always follows you around and wants to hang out with you). The acting is good all around, especially by Louis (Shia LaBeouf). The show also doesn't appeal to just one gender. The basis of the show is the Stevens family, so we get to look at the parents, Louis, Ren, and Donny, as well as Beans, the principal, Twitty, Tawny, Tom, Ruby, and many others. I would definitely recommend this show to anyone. It always keeps my attention, even when I'm watching episodes I've seen before.
tie81289 I love Even Stevens, and I am very sorry, but I must disagree about the comment that was made about Christy's singing. I think that Christy has a wonderful voice, and that she is very talented, though I wish it was easier to hear AJ sometimes, I still think that her singing is amazing.
schuttegod3 "Even Stevens" is a vast improvement over "Lizzie McGuire," which is relentlessly sappy. Sure, the show has its faults (the sub-plots involving Ren are usually dumb; Beans is annoying; Louis is increasingly shrill), but so did "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," and I loved that show. Like "Sabrina," "Stevens" is also a good waste of half an hour when there's nothing else on. And there are no idiotic gimmicks (like Lizzie's animated alter ego). It's just too bad there will never be a replacement for "The Adventures of Pete & Pete"...
DominqueZarinha I get a ball out of watching this show everyday. I love it! My favourite character is Louis (Shia LaBeouf). He is so funny and not to mention cute. He's always coming up with these "half baked" schemes and then someone is always blaming him for something or the other. Donny, Beans, Steve, Eileen, they are all wonderful. Donny's a bit of a flake though. Tawny is good as well as Twitty. However let's get dirty. Then there is Ren. Now I'm not perfect but then who is. She acts too perfect for me. Christy Romano Carlson can act really good and all but the one thing I hate to see her do is sing. I HATE TO HEAR HER SING. PLEASE. She cannot sing. What about that episode with the surfers. There she is singing "Surf's up, let it roll, let it rock, let it roll". Her annoying high pitched sh**ty voice drowns out everyone else in it. UGH! Ren, words of advice, don't sing, please, just don't. She could cause Monsoon rains to start! I love Louis though. He's the only reason I watch. He's funny and he makes the show what it is and it couldn't have been better.
