Empire became a very good watch when it was embroiled in the infighting of the music industry. The music wasn't half bad either. This latest series (4) has totally gone off the remit. Seems like the writers have run out of ideas so what to do? - Lets go back into the past. It makes for an uninteresting, boring watch. The 'who are you''where am I' is so cooked guys. I'm not altogether sure whether Terence Howard is that convincing as the lost memory man either. Common, get your act together and bring back the original format of music industry mischief and stop this 'Hallmark' nonsense. Let me know when you have come to your senses.

I don't understand why this show is getting so much hate here, i do have to say that the first season was kinda lacking but it gets better with every season. If you want something realistic doe you have to watch something else, but if you want something with drama that pulls you to the edge of your seat i think this is the right thing for you. I find it kind of ridiculous that some reviews here pointed out the "thug" like behavior as a negative cliché trademark, even if the main characters literally come out of the ghetto. I think it's good that a show with people of colour is getting so much attention it points out the racial discrimination black people are still going through, how difficult it is to be gay and black, the show combines real issues with fake drama and has become one of my favorites.(exuse me for possible spelling mistakes English is not my native language)

From the very first season, Empire has done nothing but deliver. This show just sucks you in and you cannot help but to be Team Cookie. Taraji had my heart from Baby Boy. As far as I can tell, the role of Cookie was tailored just for her. She has a loyalty about her that you just cannot fake.I love how all of the characters interact. There is a genuine rapport and, if you didn't know any better, you would swear they were all truly related. It's fun to watch and each season gets deeper into what made each character into the "person" they are today.I think the only thing this show is missing is a few Caribbean and AfroPop/AfroBeat artists on the Empire Records lineup. There are so many talented indie artists like Naomi Achu and seasoned artists like Jah Cure, who I would love to see represented.American music, in my opinion, is founded on the generous mix of culture. I hope future seasons of Empire tap into these other genres of music.Hats of to Lee Daniels and his team of writers and producers!LaDana Drigo

This show is everything, I don't understand why people dislike it so much. There's A LOT of drama, yes, and even if you're not a drama lover, once you fall in love with the show you will handle and get it. This show is about family, about love, about music! It's about how this pretty dysfunctional family can work through all that it's bad and still be strong as one! At the end of the day you won't see a happy family for sure but I bet Luscious or Cookie or Hakeem, Andre or Jamal will put their life in danger in a heart beat just to save one another in a situation of life or death, no matter how bad things are between them. We've seen it at the end of season 2, so we sure will see more of it! And that's the beauty of the show. The way that Cookie fights for her family to stay together while Luscious is always tearing them apart. They just never give up on each other.Every character has a good story line and a big dept to its persona! The cast couldn't be more perfect, I mean, Terrence and Taraji are the soul of this show. The rest of the cast is brilliant too, no shade of a doubt. The music is beyond great and even greater if you follow the story of the show because you will be even more connected to the lyrics.I'm so excited to finally see how they're going to tell Luscious and Cookie's story as kids. Been waiting on that for a long time.Of course there is so much allusion to the world of music and how industry works, can u name me one show that is totally accurate with reality? It doesn't really matter because it is just a show. Anyways, I love it so much and for me, it was like a breath of fresh air when I discovered it. And it still is.To the Empire! * air punch *
