New Orleans has always been a city of saints and sinners—some are pious, but many more come to party. At the heart of the city is its famed French Quarter, built around St. Louis Catholic Cathedral, visited by tourists and parishioners by day—and gutter punks, hustlers and tarot card readers by night. But when someone gets murdered in a nice French Quarter hotel in this tourist town, everyone takes notice. When police have no viable suspects in this bloodbath, they turn to the city’s darker elements for answers.
