Reviews

thejordanrochon Let me start off by saying that the impact that this show has had on me is tremendous. The first eight seasons of this show are amazing. Season nine is okay. But, Seasons 10-14 were terrible. Just look at the episode ratings and you will see that the ratings significantly decrease in the tenth season. Coincidence? No. The writers just got lazy. To be fair they made nine amazing seasons and I can only imagine how hard it is to keep a show going with new and interesting circumstances. The acting, writing, and direction of the show are very good. It is no wonder that Degrassi has often been considered one of the greatest teen dramas of all time. Love it (seasons 1 - 9) and hate it (seasons 10 - 14). Overall, I thoroughly recommend it!!
rexiepie Degrassi The Next Generation is for sure an amazing show. From the issues it covers, to the best acting, and writing I've ever come across in TV it's no clue why this show and it's other progressers and movies have been so popular and well known. It's so relatable that it has me emotionally attached to characters that have gone through, and are currently dealing with problems I have dealt with myself. Adam being the trans gender one of the bunch had me so attached to him. I've got a cousin who's trans, and even though I'm not trans I know exactly how it feels to not be 'normal' to others around you. I'm bisexual and have been teased, made fun of... Etc.It also handles the problem of divorce which I've also been through. The character Clare who I'm most like went through it and she's also my fave.Tristan, Eli, Maya, Becky, Drew, Alli, and Jenna are also people I'm attached to from the show. Tristan for the fact of not being straight, Maya, Eli, Becky, and Drew because they go through dealing with losing someone. I've dealt with losing people through death before... So I know how horrible it is. There's also Alli who is abused a few times. Which has happened to me. So yeah it's a pretty big deal.I adore the Degrassi writers also! Being a writer myself I know it's not easy to write about such issues which really need to be addressed more.To me it's become not only my fave show on TV, but it is the most important show there's ever been. It makes people see what the world really is, what teens like me (I'm 16) have been going though and continue to deal with.Degrassi is just lovely is every way. I honestly don't see how someone could dislike it or hate it at all. It's pure gold and it's had such an impact on my life and lots of others. So if you haven't given the show a try yet... Well then go and watch it. I promise you there's more than just one or two stories that relate to you in it. It'll make you laugh, smile, happy, sad-to depressed to where you cry.So go and give this wonderful show a watch. You'll be thankful you did.
webartist145 Degrassi has changed so much, Degrassi has gone from a comedy, romance, and thriller. To just a romance. I mean you use to be able to see Holly J and the cheer squad go out for a girls night out, and it started out fun and they have laughs and then the drama starts. Yet at the end there's something that have you on the edge of your seat. I mean even when Jane cheated on Spinner with Declan there was laughter soon around the corner. Clare has lost Jake to her best friend and that's it. Even though it's sad and it's drama, that's all it is. And another thing. It's like the show is now centered around the same old people. Before, it was first it's going to be about Holly J, and tomorrow it'll be about Spinner. Now they just do 2-Parters to every single situation. In one season, about only four topics are covered. I mean come on, what happened to the old Degrassi? Yet I can't lie, even though the show has changed, I still enjoy watching it. Just not as much as I use to.
kMxx244944 I'd like to state that I am 14 so Degrassi is targeted towards my age group. Degrassi is one of the best teen shows ever. It has real teen issues; and yes, high schoolers have transgenders, homosexuals, rape victims, etc. Degrassi hits teen issues RIGHT on the head. Season 10, The Boiling Point, has hit so many issues in that season my head is spinning! I love it!Fiona is getting the plots she deserve, she's is going through an abusive plot and the after math and shes's starting to testify.Jenna, tsk, tsk, tsk. It seems this girl is pregnant. And no, Degrassi is NOT overusing the pregnancy plot. Pregnancy is UNDER-DONE in Degrassi.Clare is getting new plots and she is getting new friends, as she slowly drifts from her old friend, Alli.Adam is the character everyone has been waiting for. It has been confirmed he's a FTM transgendered. His getting bullied but has friends. Degrassi has done something no other TV show has ever done. Transgendered. That's Adam for you. Degrassi is going to show us viewers what it's like to be a transgendered.I do not want to ruin Degrassi by explaining every little thing to you, my dear reader, but if you want an honest review, this is it: Degrassi is the best show you can watch. Parents? You worried about your teen getting bad influences? Degrassi is showing real issues. Season 8/9... eh.... Besides those seasons which showed nothing seriously important, excluding Peter's (Failed) Meth plot, and Jane's (failed) sexual molestation plot. The Boiling Point has proved that Degrassi has gotten it's EDGE BACK! And, that's what we've been waiting for!!!Love, kMxx244944, an AVID Degrassi watcher.
