A terminally ill mother of two in Leeds makes the arrangements for her own cremation, and bikers from across Britain travel to the funeral of one of their number, who has chosen to be transported in a motorcycle hearse.

A Muslim woman who has lost touch with her faith struggles to come to terms with Islamic conventions for the dead as she arranges her father's burial. Elsewhere, Hindu undertaker Chandu Tailor ensures his religion's rituals are carried out properly so that the soul can be reincarnated, a Christian man in London receives help in coping with the loss of his elderly wife, and the sensitive nature of a funeral photographer's work is discussed.
